Job Description

The position is primarily responsible for booking leisure and travel agent business to meet or exceed the budgeted revenue and occupancy goals for assigned property.  Responsible to increase business from established accounts and to develop new sources of business.  Will also be responsible to assist in wholesale business by establishing new outlets and accounts. In this role, there will be a need to travel approximately 20 percent (20%) of the time.

The position is primarily responsible for booking leisure and travel agent business to meet or exceed the budgeted revenue and occupancy goals for assigned property.  Responsible to increase business from established accounts and to develop new sources of business.  Will also be responsible to assist in wholesale business by establishing new outlets and accounts. In this role, there will be a need to travel approximately 20 percent (20%) of the time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Approximately twenty percent (20%) travel
  • Conduct sales activities to include familiarization tours/site inspections, sales calls and other sales events and functions.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term strategies and action plans for assigned areas.
  • Cultivate relationships with agencies and wholesale accounts, both established and new.
  • Make recommendations for sales trips in feeder cities and attend trade shows vital to revenue growth at the property.
  • Establish relationships with local CVBs, Chamber of Commerce, etc. and attend events in the business community to familiarize local businesses with assigned property.
  • Work with corporate sales teams and marketing teams to implement promotions and programs to optimize revenue.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications:

Education

  • 4 year degree/diploma in Travel Industry Management, Sales & Marketing or Business Management or equivalent additional experience preferred, but not required.


Experience/Skills

  • 1 or more years experience in hotel sales. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
