W Sydney, opening on Darling Harbour waterfront in October 2023, is now casting for Sydney’s first W Insider. This W brand role provides a high level of creative expertise and elevates our guests W stay or visit and presents an amazing opportunity to play a key role in the pre-opening efforts of this flagship W hotel.

The W Insider is the primary connector for all guests pre, post stay, and in house, embodying the W brand. They own the culture and experience of each guest, setting the beat of Whatever/Whenever. The W Insider will drive the hotels mission to ignite curiosity and expand worlds through a local lens. If you are approachable, attentive, and magnetic, this unique role is for you.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates with the hotel’s Chief Concierge on the Who’s Who guests, groups, and daily operations, ensuring quality, standards and guest expectations are exceeded.
  • Develops specific goals and plans alongside Welcome, Concierge, Spa and Beverage & Food teams to prioritise, organise, and accomplish work and goals.
  • Ensures pre stay communications are being sent to all guests using brand tone of voice and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Contributing to the hotel’s social media content with direction from the marketing team.
  • Collaborate on media opportunities as required by the marketing team. 
  • Managing and overseeing Marriott Bonvoy travel program and associated talent training.
  • Organise and host Insider Collective gatherings.
  • Building and contributing to teams throughout the hotel, to move toward the completion of shared goals while fostering collaboration, including alongside Welcome, Whatever/Whenever, Wheels, the General Manager, Hotel Manager, Sales & Marketing, Beverage & Food and Music Curator.
  • Be confident, well-groomed, exude a warm personality and act with integrity.
  • Supports operations teams to keep them focused on the critical components of operations to drive guest satisfaction and desired financial results.
  • Understands the guest experience journey and the impact on the overall property financial objectives and manages to achieve and exceed goals.
  • Establishes relationships with local attractions, restaurants, and other businesses to enhance guest experiences. 
  • Provides recommendations and arranges services for guests as requested.
  • Ensures repeat and VIP guests are receiving a high level of service and all requests are carried out.
  • Maintains awareness of daily operations and events at the hotel.
  • Maintains knowledge of daily house-count, arrivals/departures, VIPs, scheduled groups, background, activities, locations, and times as well as special requests/arrangements.
  • Provides a warm welcome and anticipation of guest needs throughout their stay.
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with fellow talent.
  • Ensure the operations teams effectively handles guest requests, adhering to all hotel policies, procedures and standards while striving towards total guest satisfaction. 
  • Possess a wide and established network within Sydney’s music, nightlife, fashion, food, and design worlds.
  • Engage a high emotional intelligence, reading guests and relating to colleagues to build genuine authentic relationships.
