MAIN PURPOSE

Reporting directly to the Commercial VP, the Area Manager will oversee a network of Cartier Boutiques and Watch Specialists POS in the Latin America & the Caribbean Region. This role will be accountable for developing strategic action plans with partners and providing leadership support to develop the business and build long term trusted client relationships.  In addition, this person must have proven experience in Sales, Retail and Account Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Set and monitor relevant KPIs, both quantitative and qualitative, for the assigned territories.
  • Achieve the sell-in & sell-out budgets for the geographical scope managed.
  • Review and analyze regularly the network to ensure maximum performance and provide accurate latest estimates to implement corrective actions.
  • Manage Partnerships: Re-assess and reinforce partnerships on an ongoing basis.
  • Understand the competitive landscape to identify and communicate Cartier strengths, opportunities, and threats in each market. Gather competitive intelligence in terms of sales, best practices, openings and closings, new projects, market share, margins, terms, and strategies, as well as developments in the market (hotels, malls, cruise-ship terminals, etc).
  • Manage strategic change in the market: opening, closing, change of partner, renovation, new Espaces, etc.
  • Actively prospect store opening opportunities.
  • Visit frequently the territories assigned and make sure to maximize each visit.
  • Support Prestige Sales segment development.
  • Adjust the 3-year network plan regularly.


ACTION PLANS | PARTNERS RETAILIZATION

  • Support and drive Retailization of the External Partner Network in close collaboration with all teams.
  • Collaborate with partners and boutique/POS managers to analyze and interpret data.
  • Understand and analyze context to propose commercial opportunities and develop yearly strategic action plans with the partners and boutique managers.
  • Follow-up monthly on performance and action plan implementation.
  • Ensure effective communication and execution of all corporate and region strategic initiatives to partners.
  • Develop yearly strategic action plans for key markets.


CLIENT

  • Lead a client-centric strategy and change mind-set of partners.
  • Reinforce adherence to the CARE Platform to ensure proper client data collection.
  • Partner with boutique/watch specialist partners on the planning and execution of all PR, Media, CRM, E-partner action plans, VIP client opportunities aligned with corporate guidelines and the teams.
  • Act as a Maison Ambassador by attending events in partnership with Boutiques and watch specialists; develop relationships with key VIP clients when appropriate.
  • Support VIP client treatment strategy and action plan.


PEOPLE & TALENT DEVELOPMENT

In collaboration with the Coach and Training Manager:

  • Participate in the recruitment, the development, and the growth of the boutique’s teams.
  • Support boutique managers development and help them managing their team performance.
  • Identify and develop Cartier Ambassadors in the Watch Specialist network.
  • Lead performance management of Ambassadors.
  • Embrace a collaborative environment with a co-construction mind-set with other teams to foster innovation.


BRAND IMAGE AND MERCHANDISING

  • Ensure a flawless presentation of Cartier in each store under supervision.
  • Oversee the Brand image and visibility in coordination with our Store Design & Planning Department as well as Marketing and Supply Chain (product merchandising, visual merchandising, etc.)
  • Implementation of the strategic objectives for the Retail and Specialist markets.
  • Reinforce business model: auto-replenishment process and appropriate stock level.
  • Review assortments per boutique and POS every semester.
  • Work with VM to ensure display guidelines and animation implementation.


OTHER

  • Legal: Coordinate with Legal Department, to ensure all agreements are in place (Non-exclusive Authorized Dealer Agreements and Espace Agreements).
  • Finance: Ensure that partners are current in conjunction with the finance department.
  • Prepare presentations and reports requested for territories under supervision.
  • Support and collaborate with the Commercial Head on transversal projects.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, Finance, Marketing, or International trade required.
  • MBA a plus.


Required Experience

  • Five years’ experience in international sales, preferable in luxury products.
  • Desired experience in the Latin America and Caribbean market.


Technical Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI.
  • Fluent in English & Spanish.
  • Strong knowledge in sales and marketing strategies and techniques, preferable in luxury products.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Solid analytical skills.
  • People-oriented and team player.
  • Comfortable managing high level of complexities, uncertainties
