Under the general guidance of the Regional Director of HR, responsible for driving and supporting the short and long term recruitment strategy. The Area Talent Acquisition Manager will be responsible for the recruitment, interviewing and placement of new team members across the Miami properties. He or she is expected to have a deep understanding of hospitality, marketing, branding and technology and have the ability to develop new sourcing and recruiting strategies to fulfill open jobs and benchmark for future talent. Will work closely with Regional HR team, Area VPs, and Managers in implementing, achieving and maintaining the property and sbe goals, mission, values and objectives.

 

Duties & Functions:

 

  • Responsible for staying current on industry news, trends and best practices as related to our current sourcing and staffing needs
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment: This includes, but is not limited to; research, sourcing (cold-calling), pre-screening, interviewing, qualifying, referencing, offer negotiation and placement management.
  • Develop external relationships: Build and maintain critical role candidate pipelines and present findings to key business leaders and HR partners.
  • Hands-on oversight for college campus recruiting, including attending job fairs, networking events, virtual events and panel discussions
  • Establish and cultivate networking relationships with industry leaders and organizations
  • Assess recruiting tools, design and implement recruiting strategies, streamline recruiting process for increased efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintain top results and strive for excellence: Always meet or exceed recruiting metrics set out for the properties; ensure the consistent hiring of top talent
  • Communicate new initiatives, information, and directives to all team members
  • Create innovative sourcing strategies while providing an exceptional candidate experience
  • Actively lead the recruiting and hiring efforts for the region
  • Recommend and support employee transitions, i.e. new hire, transfers, promotion, etc
  • Maintain hotel-wide open door and Internal Dispute Resolution policy
  • Work with hotel managers and HR teams to ensure onboarding, new hire orientation and new hire training programs are successful
  • Manage all job posting and career website both internally and externally.
  • Establish recruiting and staffing needs by meeting with managers to discuss in detail
  • Determine applicant qualifications by prescreening, interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Participate at public events, such as job fairs and community job outreach programs.
  • Responsible for maintaining all applications and interview notes in accordance with legal retention requirements
  • Manage staffing guide and hourly rate guide.
  • Understand compensation strategies, salaries and wages, make recommendations accordingly
  • Maintain hotel’s human resources information system so as to provide accurate employee records that comply with all applicable Federal, State and local laws as well as retention guidelines
  • Support and share recognition programs to create excitement with potential candidates
  • Practice positive employee relations, including coaching, counseling & discipline
  • Coach and counsel team members and managers on best practices related to retention and talent acquisition
  • Advise General Manager/AVP, Executive Committee, Regional HRD of potential talent acquisition/retention opportunities
  • Support hotel’s community outreach initiatives
  • Adhere to Human Resources budget
  • Maintain thorough and current knowledge of all Human Resources regulations and laws
  • Support policies and programs to guarantee compliance with EEOC, Unemployment, Wage & Hour, Workers Compensation
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
  • We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.  We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction
  • Communicate with employees using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information.
  • Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations, serving as a role model for team and other employees
  • Make decisions and take actions based on previous experience and good judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.


SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • College Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Related field preferred
  • SHRM certification preferred
  • Previous experience in recruitment preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility
  • Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired ends
  • Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
  • Proven team leader, results driven, self-motivated with a high level of energy with a proven track record of living the company's values
  • Understanding of Computer systems such as: UltiPro, Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook is preferred
  • Experience with the use of applicant tracking software, social media, and professional networks such as LinkedIn
  • Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and common sense
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and remain flexible to constant change
  • Strong organization skills, able to maintain a complex calendar and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen
  • Strong ability to provide innovative approaching to problem solving make the right decisions upon available information.
  • Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
  • The ideal candidate will have proven results influencing and collaborating in a matrix organization and working with all levels of the organization including senior leadership
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and handle demands simultaneously professionally

  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
  • Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, possesses strong networking capabilities
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations
