At Soho House the floor team reports to the Food & Beverage Management team, the Assistant General Manager and the General Manager. The role…

At Soho House a F&B Manager is responsible for maintaining the local property’s Food and Beverage (F&B) operations in conjunction with the AGM and General Manager. Your primary responsibility is to uphold Soho House service standards and create an approachable yet elevated atmosphere for members, guests and staff within the House. In this role you will also oversee forecasting, business improvement plans and manage payroll/labor, budgets and revenue.

A successful F&B Manager is a proven leader who thrives in fast-paced and demanding work environments. Someone who is not afraid of rolling up their sleeves to get the job done, customer centric, keen eye for detail while also encompassing a strong business acumen and problem solver. The F&B Manager is responsible for managing all F&B operations and for delivering an excellent guest experience. The successful candidate will be able to forecast, plan and manage all F&B orders, staff and finance. The goal is to maximize sales and revenue through customer satisfaction and employee engagement, largely responsible for service standards, elevating member/guest experience, hiring, training and oversight of F&B staff scheduling.

Main Duties

  • Champion the Soho House brand, Foundations, Mission and Values.
  • Partner with the AGM and General Manager to develop, enhance and create systems that encourage efficient and effective service standards that elevate members, guests and staff experience.
  • Manage all F&B and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards.
  • Lead the F&B team, implement and lead staff training to educate on product awareness to Soho House & Co.’s food program and drink initiatives through story-telling, demos, guest speakers, “Cook House & House Tonic” and “Club School.”
  • Implement sales initiatives supported by training to drive sales and meet daily/weekly/monthly/annual budgets.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally to ensure all member and guest experiences are supported by various members of the team and are briefed on expectations to always execute top-notch service.
  • Partake in the recruiting process by identifying talent gaps working with People & Development/Recruitment to attract/acquire talent as well as provide interview evaluation following the interview.
  • Support new hire on-boarding and training to ensure the Food & Beverage (F&B) / Floor team is polished, elevated and approachable.
  • Scheduling, coaching, counselling and progressive discipline of hourly employees.
  • Partner with membership to gather members’ feedback and develop initiatives that address concerns.
  • Day to day management of the business including opening and closing duties.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen, Bar and Purchasing Departments to ensure product knowledge, quality, consistency and speed of service standards are met.
  • Set-up and execute member events and private hire events adhering to all briefing sheets working in collaboration with AV and Member Events team.
  • Adhere to local and state regulated Health & Safety guidelines as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) as well as Soho house & Co. global standards by liaising with internal and external stake holders to promote a clean and safe work environment, using daily checklists to manage your duties.
  • Collaborate with and support the membership team through innovation, marketing, PR, Social media, Events & Programming, and as needed.
  • Follow the guidelines for Smart Serve Ontario.
  • Performs other duties as requires
