Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Sales and Marketing, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

General Responsibilities Include:

  • Sell bookings through solicitation of new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls and written communication
  • Actively participate in sales presentations
  • Conduct property tours, site visits, FAM receptions and customer meetings
  • Travel to specific markets to visit prospective and key accounts
  • Conduct/attend meetings as appropriate to the position
  • Entertain as needed to showcase hotel to prospective clients
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional memberships
  • Report pertinent information regarding each group or function, and feedback to Director of Sales and Marketing
  • Cooperate with all support colleagues and departments.  Ensure that they have correct information to provide the highest quality of service
  • Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers
  • Establish guidelines, quotes and negotiate prices, confirming by written contracts
  • Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the Hotel and trade related organizations
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Strong computer literacy, with knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional communication skills, passionate, strategic and innovative
  • Able to develop strong work relationships with both Clients and Colleagues
  • Self-confident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions
  • Ability to implement processes and methods
  • Ability to manage a budget and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Ability to solve complex problems in an organized manner
  • Skills including Delphi, Opera and Sales Programs

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual activity.

Qualification Standards:

Education:  Bachelor's Degree preferred, ideally in Sales & Marketing, Hotel Management, or Business Administration.

Experience:  Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales capacity, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.

Grooming:  All colleagues must maintain a neat, and well groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided).
