by | CAREER GUIDANCE, Career Paths

Hosco sat down with Jennifer Jochem, the Director of Rooms at La Réserve, to discuss how she has navigated her career and landed her current position at the prestigious Michel Reybier property in Geneva. As a graduate of Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne, Jennifer began her career with the Four Seasons in Geneva. Moving between reception, concierge, front office, and housekeeping, Jennifer covered all of the departments before becoming an Assistant Director of Rooms. She says that this multi-departmental experience is key in her role as Rooms Director, as it is beneficial for her to know the jobs of her team so that she is able to properly support them.

So what does it take to excel in a demanding hospitality role like a Director of Rooms? “Rooms division or hospitality together has to be a passion,” she says. “It’s too demanding if you don’t truly have it in your blood.” Watch the video to learn more about why Jennifer chose a career in Rooms Division and what she loves the most about her role.
