Learn by Doing: How to Become a Successful Entrepreneur
with
Joe Haslam
Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation -
IE Business School
This week, hosco.tv talks to Joe Haslam, who is the co-founder of Hot Hotels and a professor at IE Business School in Madrid. Joe splits his time between the classroom and the field, which means he is constantly practicing what he preaches. This, in addition to having started 6 companies over the last 20 years, has earned him the title of the “Guru of Entrepreneurship.” We discuss with him what it takes to be an entrepreneur, what you need to create a successful start-up, and what to expect when getting your company underway. His number one tip for people starting a business? “Tell everyone,” he says. “Get out and do things.” And, Joe reminds us, it’s important to be patient, as it often takes up to 18 months to really get your idea off the ground. As a serial entrepreneur, Joe has a lot more tips and insights to share. Listen in as we get a peek inside the entrepreneurial mind-set.
