The School of Tourism and Maritime Technology of the Polytechnic  of Leiria -  ESTM -  is located in Peniche, Portugal, facing the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, just one hour north Lisbon. ESTM is a privileged place to study, with fine people, Berlengas's Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO) as landscape, sandy beaches as well as many diving and surf spots in the vicinity.

The ESTM was created in 1999 and has since adopted the sea as a reference and support of its identity. The training offered at this school basically includes courses in the tourism area and in the maritime sciences area. 

The School of Tourism and Maritime Technology is a public school of higher education that promotes knowledge, creates, transmits and disseminates culture, science and technology as well as guided research and experimental development. Furthermore, ESTM has a strong connection to the community that surrounds it and the quality patterns that lead it are also intended to provide a suitable answer to the needs of the region. The Polytechnic  of Leiria  is located in the Leiria district and includes 13,000 students and 885 teachers. ESTM has 120 teachers and 1600 students. 

One of the Polytechnic of Leiria's research groups in Tourism is located at ESTM:  the CITUR (Tourism Research Group).

ESTM provides  Bachelors in Events Management, Marketing for Tourism, Restaurant and Catering Management, Tourism, Tourism and Hotel Management and Tourism and Recreation and Masters in  Sustainable Tourism Management, Tourism and Environment, Marketing and Tourism Promotion and in  Hotel Management.

All the courses have the TedQual Certification by the UNWTO.
