An exceptional opportunity presents itself for a Director of Rooms position, to be a part of an iconic London Opening. The landmark Old War Office located in historic Whitehall, is being transformed into The Raffles London at the OWO.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Rooms ensures the highest standard of services are provided for guests and the department's qualitative and quantitative targets are met. The role consists of leading and managing the day to day operations (front office, housekeeping, concierge, guest relation and butlers) and ensuring all service standards are followed.

 

The Director of Rooms conveys the hotel's image and atmosphere through his/her exemplary attitude, warm and friendly welcome, availability and frequent presence in the field.

He/she:

-Develops close relationships with guests throughout their stay with the aim of gaining their loyalty,

- Prepares annual budgets and administers in a fiscally responsible manner,

- Leads and supports all areas in the achievement of the hotel’s financial and operational targets

- Controls all purchases for the department, consistently aware of quality and cost

- Assists in the preparation of the annual strategic plan and achieves the goals and targets therein

- Ensures effective and proactive yield management, increasing RevPAR index within the competitive set

- Oversees group business, reviewing and ensuring details of group resumes are met

- Oversees the selection, training and development of all Colleagues to ensure timely recruitment and career growth

- Manages and motivates the teams in order to improve sales and quality

- Implements and ensures department policies, procedures and service standards are followed

- Follows all safety policies

- Is in constant contact with the other departments and ensures that information circulates smoothly between them

- Initiates new projects, coordinating implementation and follow-up

 

 

Your responsibilities are included but not limited to this job description as this has been drafted as a guide to the purpose and main duties of the role as it currently exists. The hotel relies on the flexibility of its staff to ensure the continuity of the high standards currently being achieved

 

Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality is required. You will have 5 years’ experience in a similar role and be able to illustrate previous successes in a comparable luxury marketing communication environment. Previous opening experience is a plus.

 

Passionate about the hospitality industry, art and culture, heritage and history, you will be driven to deliver excellence in our guest experience.
