Lead, Fragrance and Beauty Milwork and Construction:

The Lead -Millwork and Construction, will manage and have full responsibility for the development, purchasing, delivery, and installation of materials and furniture that support the openings of Chanel owned Fragrance and Beauty ("F&B") stores (SABs). The manager is responsible for understanding the intent and directive of design, developing samples, prototypes, and final products that ensure optimal quality, service, and cost. Key roles are to manage millwork and construction to make sure all details and quality are to brand expectation during the build and opening of Stand Alone Boutiques (SABs) for the Fragrance and Beauty division. Responsible in managing systems input for new vendor, purchase orders, production development, project tracking database, installations at retail, invoices as well as sample approvals, development sheets, vendor expediting, and Creative Development Requests (CDR’s) completion.

Position Responsibilites:

  • Manage the development, purchase, delivery, and installation for the following categories, as well as their on-going updates for all of our F&B Generic and Customized counters: MBR, SAB, WFJ custom stores, custom free-standing furniture in MBR, and store material bulk ordering (flooring, lighting, fixtures, etc.)
  • Partner with Store Design and business teams to manage timing, delivery, production, and installation. Involves managing and maintaining the established processes and standards, both internally and externally of third party Logistics and Warehousing Facility.  
  • Liaison between Store Design and supporting vendors involving millwork, GC, Architect, signage, lighting, and flooring
  • Procuring materials and negotiating best pricing
  • Strategist around process and innovation between multiple functions within the company and supporting vendors
  • Data input in SAP and other databases used internally. Involves issuing Purchase Orders, inputting data for products in SAP (weights and measures) and database, as well as issuing Bill of Materials for Factice and Sub Contractor items as needed.
  • Manage information updates on all spreadsheets, tracking forms, and CDRs (Creative Development Request) for all categories.  
  • Obtain sample approvals during development. Involved in getting approval from key partners across the company.
  • Development of new material library, finishes, and manufacturing techniques that support the distinct needs of the creative department and any other internal partners. Be the leader of Innovation for the group.
  • Manage and lead production team’s CSR goals. Includes LEED,  FSC and 3D. Ties to innovation, and coordination with CSR partners, and Global partners.
  • Manage invoice process on all purchased material with all internal partners
  • Supervise timelines for all projects and influencing other departments to stay on target when needed.
  • Partner with our Store Design, SAB operations, and Retail Store Experience teams to understand goals and directives of the Brand

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Architecture, Industrial Design or Related Field preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5 years minimum in new product development, purchasing and supplier management
  • Travel will be needed to each new opening
