From a fine dining experience for thousands of delegates, to an on-the-go lunch for an exhibitor team, we operate on all scales with outstanding care in every service area. The role of Events Manager is a fabulous opportunity to work with a great team and be a part of delivering exceptional events at the ExCeL London Hospitality.   

Overall purpose of Events Manager:

To be the principal point of contact between ExCeL London Hospitality and the Client, selling, developing, organizing and managing the Event Catering.  To actively work as part of the Sales and Events Team to increase and enhance the level of Sales.  Proactively up selling the services by various techniques and always aiming to meet customer needs and exceed customer expectations.  To operate and maintain the systems for client ordering and all related processing, ensuring the highest standards of accurate and timely customer, staff and management information.


Promptly respond to all incoming catering enquiries (telephone, fax, letter, e-mail) and obtain bookings wherever possible

Communicate with clients by phone and in writing in respect of arrangements for all functions. Complete customer site visits if required

Manage the relationship at an appropriate level with the client, providing a high level of Customer Service at all times

Ensure that every customer is given a polite, friendly and personal service, and be able to turn any negative customer experiences into positive ones

Acknowledge and act upon individual customer needs whilst observing the standards and confirm an achievable plan for delivery by liaison with the operations team

To ensure that timely, accurate and compelling proposals / presentations are made to customers

Actively solicit feedback from the Client during and post event, by sending out a Customer Feedback Form to be completed

Pro-actively visit key clients and operational management during key periods during live events, to maintain good client relations and ensure that the event is running as it should  

Support Senior Managers in the effective liaison with the prime client to ensure the continual development of the partnership

Ensuring that accurate records are made and details filed in accordance with company and unit procedure. Produce amend and issue all event paperwork including invoices

To ensure the full and clear communication of all client requirements and expectations to operational team, in accordance with ISO9002 standards and company policy as directed by your Line Manager
