Key Responsibilities - Greet guests in a warm and professional manner, providing a positive first impression and exceptional customer service.
- Assist guests in making reservations for the restaurant, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely follow-up.
- Maintain a deep knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and promotions, effectively communicating this information to guests.
- Provide recommendations and suggestions to guests based on their preferences, dietary restrictions, and the restaurant's offerings.
- Escort guests to their designated seating areas, ensuring smooth and efficient seating arrangements.
- Monitor and manage the flow of guests, optimising seating capacity while maintaining a comfortable and welcoming environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the restaurant, ensuring all tables are properly set and equipped with necessary items.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the kitchen and bar, to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of food and beverages to guests.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.
- Stay updated on hotel amenities, services, and promotions, effectively promoting them to guests and maximising revenue opportunities.
- Assist in handling guest payments, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all financial transactions.
- Collaborate with the service team to coordinate the seating and service of large groups or special events in restaurant.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols, ensuring the safety and security of guests and colleagues.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and standards to provide a consistently high level of service.
RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For - Previous experience as a hostess or in a guest-facing role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Forbes Standards.
- Professional appearance, always maintaining a polished and well-groomed demeanour.
- Customer service-oriented mindset, with a proactive approach to anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic, Russian, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Mandarin are an advantage.
- Familiarity with reservation management systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrating problem-solving skills, and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the needs of the hotel.
