Apprenti commis sommelier H/F - Hôtel des Grands Boulevards
This luxurious and famous hotel in New Orleans is a fantastic opportunity for any F&B candidate to jumpstart their career! Train in the lounge, restaurant and outlets as a host, server, and then a supervisor! On your off time you can enjoy the historic French Quarter, experience the unique local cuisine of creole food and enjoy a wide variety of music! new Orleans is a wonderful melting pot of a city and the perfect destination for J1 candidates!
Host: $14.00 per hour
Server: $7.25 per hour + Gratuity
It is customary in the US to work in “gratuity” positions. In these positions, you will receive a base hourly salary plus gratuity (tips). While the amount of a gratuity is ultimately at the discretion of the guest, the customary tip is 15- 20% of the total bill before tax. Based on history, you may expect to earn around $21.75 per hour.
Supervisor: $16.00 per hour
A uniform will be provided. A meal is provided. They will receive 40 hours of PTO over the 12 months of training. The hotel will provide airport pickup. They should fly into the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Please communicate your arrival with the DHR via email before you book your flight. The hotel will provide 14 days of complimentary room and tax.
Staff housing is an option at $200 per pay period. Fully Furnished with double occupancy and next to the hotel.

Eligibility criteria for our Career USA programs:
- You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA
- You have shown consistent career growth over the last years
- You have shown serious commitment to your most recent employers
