Situated on Canal Street, The Westin New Orleans soars high above the Mississippi River in the New Orleans French Quarter. This newly renovated waterfront hotel invites guests to experience NOLA from a convenient perch atop The Shops at Canal Place. Steps from the hotel, explore the boutiques along Royal Street or unwind on Bourbon Street.
Offering over 29,000 square feet of event space near the Morial Convention Center with stimulating views of the river. Dining options at the hotel include a restaurant and bar with signature breakfast and lunch options at Bistro at the Bend.
Culinary Interns have the opportunity to train alongside talented Executive Chefs and learn from the best.
The role involves preparing all food items, based on standardized recipes, for the Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets, while maintaining the highest standards to produce an appealing and appetizing product. Cleanliness, sanitation and safety in the kitchen and work areas while minimizing waste and maximizing cost/production ratio are also a key part of the role.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM AS A J-1 INTERN or TRAINEE, HERE ARE THE CRITERIA THAT YOU MUST MEET:
Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
Speak fluent English.
Be available for the full length of the contract.
Be currently enrolled in full-time education at a University outside of the United States.
Studying towards an undergraduate degree in Culinary Arts, OR have graduated from these studies no more than 12 months prior to your program start date.
Be a graduate from an undergraduate degree in Culinary Arts, PLUS at least one year of related work experience in this industry. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States.
If you have not studied at University level, you must have at least five-years full time work experience in the tourism/hospitality/events industry to qualify. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States.
£2,850.00 GBP - 12-month full placement program fee inclusive of visa sponsorship, medical insurance, U.S SEVIS fee, pre-arrival support, and pre-arranged job.
Employer offers Payroll deduction so only $1,000 needs to be paid upfront.
U.S. Embassy appointment fee = $160.00 USD
Return flight to the United States = Varies
Possible courier fees for DS-2019 visa documents
