A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a General Manager to be part of the opening of the first Mondrian hotel in Europe, a luxury lifestyle concept by SBE, very well known in North and Central America. Philippe STARCK designed the first Mondrian in Los Angeles.

Located in a former winery near Bordeaux, this boutique hotel of 97 rooms designed by Philippe STARCK, proposes to the local and international guests an exceptional F&B offer and progressive programming with Mondrian Restaurant Brand, Katsuya, and its bar. Guests can also enjoy the spa Ciel.

The Position

Reporting into the RVP operations Europe Premium brands, the General Manager oversees the day to day operations of the hotel in accordance with company standards, mission statement, vision and values. The maximization of financial performance, guest satisfaction and Brand colleagues development is an integral part of the position. Furthermore it is essential to assist the RVP Operations Europe premium brands  in the development and communication of strategies, goals and objectives as well as the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotels while, managing, growing and fostering positive owner relations and maximizing performance.

Areas of Responsibility

Operations

Employee engagement

  • Directly supervise the Executive Committee members and indirectly supervise all hotel personnel
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and training programs
  • Act as an integer role model, displaying explicit knowledge and awareness of company standards

  • Offer instant excitement the minute the door swings open - seductive and striking, where glamour and fantasy prevail.
  • International : Mondrian spans the globe and welcomes the world and its influences through its doors: make sure at Mondrian, anything Guests want is theirs, and that we do it with an international level of service.

 

Qualifications

  • Prior 5+ years experience in luxury and preferably lifestyle hotel management
  • Previous experience in F&B, preferably in luxury  F&B Concept, lifestyle, or entertainment
  •  
  • Strong match with Accor Inspiring Leader capability framework
  • Strong Educational background
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Inspirational and dynamic leader who can influence at a senior level and engage a team on a growth journey, creating a culture of engagement and high performance with an incredibly strong service ethic
  • Good understanding of the local market (previous experience preferred in Bordeaux)
  • Understanding/experience of union relations
  • Experience with owners relationship
  • Must be strategic, creative and able to clearly communicate how plans will deliver on overall goals
  • Excellent speaking and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Demonstrate creative flair and the ability to transform brand guidelines into unique guest experience, including creating and leading PR campaigns to create  buzz
