While a majority of our attendance (around 50%) is coming from the Mainland China, Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) are realigning their sales and marketing focus to the international markets, especially the South East Asia region. Against this backdrop, we are looking to appoint this Business Development Manager role in the Travel Trade Sales organization to put dedicated effort in ramping up our presence in Philippines.
This leadership role will lead the business development team to achieve the stated KPI(s) including admission, room night, trade marketing activities as well as other related indicators for the Philippines. The job holder is required to establish solid in-market trade network, to identify market specific consumer and travel trade trends and formulate locally relevant distribution strategies. With extensive market insights, the job-holder is required to plan, and launch market relevant trade marketing programs to drive attendance and room night conversions.
Besides the traditional travel trade, this role should be knowledgeable in online travel developments and able to tap into this growing trend to launch specific promotional activities leveraging on relevant OTA partners. Coupled with strong relationships with local airlines, this role is expected to develop relevant promotion programs to enhance HKDL’s presence in the market.
  • Identify potential area for business growth to achieve and exceed the agreed goals of admission (theme park) and room nights (3 hotels) from Philippines.
  • Create market presence in the different trade channels, formulate business development initiatives that will contribute to the bottom-line.
  • Identify market segment, develop products for specific wholesaler channels and derive appropriate marketing tactics to promote specific products.
  • Manage a portfolio of trade accounts and motivate the trade partners in a sustainable manner with the ultimate goal of delivering results.
  • Identify market specific consumer and travel trade trends and implement locally relevant distribution strategies.
  • Build solid relationship and network with key members of the travel trade, tourism authorities, and other key stakeholders and to represent the company in trade and public events when and where appropriate.
  • To drive and initiate cross LOB(s) or inter-company discussions/initiatives and provide market and business insights to achieve continuous improvement of business practice and evolve business models with the ultimate goal of maintaining HKDL’s profitability and competitiveness in the marketplace.
Basic Qualifications
  • Good business acumen, analytical, with in-depth travel trade expertise.
  • Bachelor degree with 8 – 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong working relationship with its key players in the travel industry in Philippines.
  • Have thorough understanding of the entire travel value chain, to observe and predict important industry and market trends.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills.
  • Highly result oriented and able to work in with tight timeline.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong negotiation skill is a must.
