Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of Disney’s Parks and Resorts business segment. Representing more than 150 disciplines, its talented corps of Imagineers are responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships and new media technology projects.

This position will perform electronic activities related to attractions Audio/Video, Show Control and Imaging Engineering.
Responsibilities• Translates functional requirements into design requirements
• Follows department standards and procedures.
• Identify, collect, specify and document show interface requirements for utilities including electrical power and equipment cooling/heating loads. (re-word)
• Review and authorize for release detailed top level, layout and design drawings of electronic subsystems.
• Identify and collect vendor electronic equipment specifications.
• Resolve design conflicts and revise electronic element requirements
• Develop risk analysis and inform management, as required.
• Direct designers in the preparation of detailed electronic equipment drawings.
• Insure the checking of detailed electronic equipment drawings.
• Review Vendor manufacturing and quality documentation against contract technical requirements.
• Ensure Show System deliverables are met.
• Verify electronic equipment installation against drawings and requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation conflicts, interferences and other problems.
• Must be able to travel to all sites, as required, for periods of one to six weeks or more.
• Review specifications, scopes of works, Test and Adjust plans and procedures.
• Verify electronic performance against requirements.
• Review final electronic contractor documentation and review as-built drawings.
• Review final electronic Test and Adjust and acceptance testing documentation against deliverables.

A/V Engineering:
• Manage a single attraction level Audio/Video system design, fabrication and installation.
• Ensure conformance to A/V department standards and procedures.
• Develop specifications and test plans.
• Responsible for following a design through to successful operation and turnover.
• Identify, collect, specify and document A/V interface requirements for utilities including electrical power and equipment cooling/heating loads.
• Identify and collect vendor electronic equipment specifications.
• Finalize detailed interface requirements between controls and ride mechanical and audio elements.
• Direct troubleshooting of first article assembly problems as required.
• Provide electronic contractor support and verification of first article assembly and bench testing, as required.
• Review contractor manufacturing and quality documentation against contract technical requirements.

Show Control Engineering:
• Finalize detailed interface requirements between controls and ride mechanical and audio elements.
• Direct troubleshooting of first article assembly problems as required.
• Provide electronic Contractor support and verification of first article assembly and bench testing, as required.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation conflicts, interferences and other problems.
• Support Show System operator and maintenance training.

Imaging:
All prior duties of Associate and:
• Work with creative/project team, Visual Effects team and Video Media design to define and produce an integrated system that meets the show requirements.
• Assist with the planning of attraction level design/production/procurement strategy and activities
• Assist in the creation of estimates, budgets and schedules for projection systems.
• Assist with Mock-ups and proof of concepts of projection systems

Basic Qualifications3 years of more in related field plus Five (5) years relevant experience in lieu of engineering degree or two (2) years relevant experience with an Engineering Technology degree.

• Comprehensive knowledge of audio source and reproduction/exhibition technology. Understanding of sound system design, architectural acoustic requirements, test and measurement. Experience in interfacing both PC and MAC based computers to audio hardware.
• Knowledge of video systems, encoding, and reproduction/exhibition technology.
• Moderate working knowledge of theatrical design and technical knowledge of specific discipline, including methods of construction.
• Familiarity with Industry Audio and Video standards.

Preferred Education AA, Engineering Technology, or other related degree desired, but not required.
