Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Restaurant Managers, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Offer genuine sense of hospitality at each point of guest and team contact
- Leading the Restaurant team in all aspects of the department
- Act as role model where you consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service and ensure FORBES 5 Star dining service standards are followed
- Must be able to think independently
- Have full knowledge of all offerings
- Ensure all restaurant information and tools are maintained at the highest level
- Take lead in handling all guest concerns, reacting quickly and professionally with the goal to bring around full resolution with guest satisfaction top of mind
- Create and maintain a positive company culture with aim to sustain an engaged, knowledgeable and enthusiastic team while building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation
- Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
- Ensure teamwork and effective communication between back of house and front of house
- Ensure that all safety and sanitation policies are followed when handling food and beverage
Qualifications:
- A passion for all things hospitality required
- The ability to be happy and welcoming, responsive and solution oriented is a must
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to handle the pressures of providing excellent service in a fast paced atmosphere with genuine interest and passion for food, wine and crafted cocktails
- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
- Previous Luxury hospitality experience required
- Food and Beverage experience in a high capacity role preferred
- Previous experience in a high volume restaurant preferred
- Experience with FORBES 5 Star is preferred
- Previous MICROS/Silverware experience preferred
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational skills required
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities required
- Highly responsible and reliable required
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team required
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times required
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
