Fairmont Regional Linen
Wash Floor Attendant
The wash floor attendant is responsible for the daily operation of the wash floor
department, this includes operation of both the sheet and towel tunnel, and sorting
linen. Such related tasks will include but are not limited to sorting table linen napkin by
various color, and rewash. The wash floor attendant is responsible for the accurate
loading of the laundry tunnels, managing press faults, and assisting the tunnel control
operator and washperson as necessary. Ensuring a quality on time service for our
customers, Fairmont Hotels and Outside accounts.
Hotel Overview: Fairmont Regional Linen Service is a commercial laundry and dry cleaning facility that is owned and operated by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in the beautiful mountain town of Canmore Alberta. We service The Fairmont Banff Springs, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and several other hotels and resorts in the Bow Valley.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Sort table linen, napkins by various colour and wash.
Organize and prioritize work area according to shipping schedule
Process linens in proper order, proper customer and program numbers
Attention to weight of transfers loaded not to exceed set limits
Attention to and maintain consistent production standard expectations
Excellent communication with tunnel control operator, washperson, maintenance, supervisors and fellow wash floor attendants
Complete working knowledge of all accounts processed, including cart, tag, bag colors
Complete working knowledge of all accounts linen types and loading sequence
Cleanliness of work area – removal of garbage, and other items as applicable
Complete working knowledge of tunnel operation, including start, stop, press
Safety conscience, applicable personal protective equipment, hazards
Able to maximize time through efficient actions, remain calm under pressure
Driving linen to our customers when required
- Valid Drivers license
- Previous experience is an asset
- We will train
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Must be able to perform repetitive work
- Lifting linen out of carts is required
