Job Summary:

The Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui is looking for a Conference Services & Sales Manager who shares a passion for excellence, conveys a positive attitude and epitomizes honesty and integrity. 

Conference Services & Sales Manager is responsible to secure and service weddings and catering business from the social and travel trade, through active and effective promotion, solicitation, and prospecting, while maintaining FS standards and maximizing revenue/profit potential. Manage a small portfolio of domestic wholesale accounts based in Koh Samui, Krabi and Phuket. Coordinate all requirements for various MICE groups booked by the Sales Department based in Bangkok. Responsible for enforcing the terms of sales letter of agreement and guiding meeting planners through the planning process. Communicates the needs and expectations of the client with all departments in the hotel. Ensures successful execution of group and client satisfaction.

The position reports to the Senior Director of Sales. Candidate will be based in Koh Samui and is open for Thai Nationality only.

Responsibilities:

1. Actively solicit new business and respond to inquiries with the intention of confirming profitable wedding/social events business and achieving Quarterly Sales Goals. Maintain an active trace/follow-up system on all inquiries and personal sales calls.

2. Assist in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase catering activity, volume and profit.

3. Conduct property tours and entertain planners of meetings, social events.

4. Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Morning Operations Briefing, Morning CS Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting, Pre-Convention Meetings, Bi-Monthly Board of Operations, Menu Tastings, and Planning Visits.

5. Coordinate the sales efforts between off-site team in Bangkok and operations to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues.

6. Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event. Prepare a monthly booking report.

7. Keep Director of Sales promptly and fully informed of all matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.

8. Supervise the execution of banquet events. Review all function space with banquet manager and when required head house attendant. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events.

9. Respond according to the crisis management plan to any resort emergency or safety situation.

10. Assist with all guest inquires within the Sales, Marketing and Conference Services Department, including assistance walk-in site inspections.

11. Be fully versed in the facilities and capabilities of the resorts competitive set. Maintain a visible presence in the community through involvement with Industry associations.

12. Manage a small portfolio of wholesale accounts based in Koh Samui, Phuket and Krabi.

13. Interim role (12-18 months): support PR function based in Bangkok with media visit hosting and creating content for social media / digital marketing as relevant.

14.Comply with Four Seasons standards for sales and marketing, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Thai nationality only
  • 3-5 years previous catering sales and/or banquet assistant manager experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Strong selling and interpersonal skills
  • High level of creativity
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast paced client driven environment
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, weekends and evenings
  • Sales and Catering Computer Software, MS Word, Excel
