As a Pastry Cook 2 at the Four Seasons Resort Whistler, you would be responsible for preparing and checking the mise en place as well as setting up the pastry station before the service in regards to the Four Seasons Standards and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous significant experience in a related position
  • Good knowledge in English (written, spoken and reading)
  • Certified in food service sanitation
  • have a full working knowledge of kosher preparation, food and service
  • Passion for cooking

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in producing all pastry for hotel operations under the guidance of the Pastry Chef de Partie
  • Demonstrate a good sense of esthetics, decorating and producing product within the quality standard guidelines as established
  •  Work closely with standard recipes and presentations in order to maintain quality standards and consistency of product
  •  Make the AM breakfast shift's produce and fill in there when necessary
  •  Assist in production and maintenance of par stocks of dough, sponges, ice creams, etc. as determined by the Pastry Chef de Partie
  •  Assist in the training of subordinates or colleagues, particularly sensitive to their development and training process
  • Work neatly and cleanly, keeping work areas and walk-ins in accordance with sanitary standards
  • Keep waste to a minimum
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with fellow employees
  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff
  • Execute the wedding cakes in the absence of the Pastry Chef de Partie
  • Maintain the high standards of the Pastry shop in the absence of the Pastry Chef de Partie
  • Communicate to staff regarding and Banquet changes
  • Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures
