Job Summary

This position will be responsible for operation of all IT related function of trading hotels / corporate, regional offices. Provides technical and operation support to Director, Field Services Hotel Operations Greater China & Mongolia

What will I be doing?
As a Manager, Field Service Hotel Operations Greater China & Mongolia, you will work with the Director of Field Services Hotel Operations GCM to oversee the deployment, operation and support of hotel technology solutions at operating hotels, support the company''s strategic priority of maximizing performance within the Area.

The purpose of this position is work with the Director of field services hotel operations GCM to drive alignment between corporate technology strategy and local technology activities. This involves understanding strategic technology directives and providing leadership, structure, standards and oversight to guide owners and operators in local technology decisions.

It requires developing strong collaborative partnerships with regional office, area office, hotels, owners, Brand and Operations leadership and business partners and vendors that result in the delivery and support of technology solutions that meet the needs of the business and accomplish the strategic objectives of the company.

The Manager, Field Service Hotel Operations Greater China & Mongolia will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Planning Activities 20%

  • Work with Dir. of Field Services Hotel Operations to communicate key technology messages to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply Project Management skills to manage central and regional projects for technology solutions that will support the growth and competitive advantage of the company
  • Establishes department operational procedures and processes
  • Support Dir. of Field Services Hotel Operations complete Capital and Operational Budget planning / review/ control
  • Work with finance / support help desk / internal or external audit team to ensure quality fixed assets review and inventory
  • Ensure each business unit operation pass IT related internal and PCI audits
  • Ensure vendor / regional / hotel IT status report as issued as scheduled

Organizing Activities 20%

  • Ensure cooperate IT standards and best practices are communicated and implemented
  • Determines priorities for department and the process for the assignment of work
  • Manages the cross-functional links between supporting departments
  • Ensure outsource Help desk support specialist team performance and monitor daily operation
  • Organize and attend the IT department internal or external meeting (monthly/quarterly/annually

Directing Activities 25%

  • Work with Dir of Field Services Hotel Operations to monitor and Drive SLA''s of core business partners and suppliers (e.g. global helpdesk and 3rd party vendors)
  • Meet IT PCI related audit compliance
  • Meet IT technology internal audit compliance
  • Prepare and submit the operability and cost performance IT system (including hardware / software / service) budget / quotation to Dir of Hotel Operations.
  • Work with Dir of hotel operations to communicate, plan and manage the implementation of IT project in Greater China
  • Coordinate the schedule of various technologies vendors in accordance with the overall project timeline
  • Ensure regular contact with key stake holders
  • Maintain and communicate risks and issues in day to day operation and provide contingency plans for each system with 6 months review.

Staffing Activities 10%

  • Support Director of Field Services of Hotel Operations to provides directions and leadership to team members within the Field Technology Services function
  • Provides directions and leadership to help desk support specialist team within the Field Technology Services function
  • Support talent to accomplish current objectives and provide a pool of future leadership resources
  • Determines department staff training and development needs
  • Support Director of Field Services Hotel Operations to works with direct reports on goals to assist in accomplishing department initiatives
  • Support and Drive the initiative of IT Cluster Function setup in the field to enable more career opportunities for Field Team members strengthen the talent pipeline in the region and build effective IT functions at property level through IT Clustering option.

Regional Office Activities 25%

  • Ensure Shanghai Regional Office, RMCC, HRCC, Satellite Area Office ( Beijing, Shenzhen), hotel technology refreshes are completed in line with company standards and within suggested equipment lifecycle/warranties
  • Streamlines business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the Shanghai Regional Office, RMCC, HRCC, Satellite Area Office ( Beijing, Shenzhen), hotel and IT department
  • Resolve and follow up Shanghai Regional Office, RMCC, HRCC, Satellite Area Office (Beijing, Shenzhen) payment issue in partnership with procurement and finance.
  • Manage Shanghai Regional Office, RMCC, HRCC, Satellite Area Office ( Beijing, Shenzhen) IT operation cost and reduce where feasible, work with service provider and provide best solution

  • Significant experience of ten or more years in technology roles, including five years of management and leadership experience
  • Vendor management experience
  • Ability to travel as required
  • BA/BS/Bachelor''s Degree
  • 5-10 Years of management or supervisory experience

It is advantageous in this position if you demonstrate the following capabilities and advantages:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in full service, resort or other complex hotels or hospitality-based business, with a mix of experience from operational and technology roles
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, hospitality technology and relationship management
  • Strong Business level communication skills in Mandarin & English
  • Global experience advantageous
