The Sr. Manager, Digital Platforms Japan is responsible for managing Japan’s digital platform strategy and Marriott’s Japanese language channels. It is responsible for Japan as a source market including understanding key insights around Japanese buying behavior and how Japanese platforms are developing in market. It’s main goal is to ensure Marriott channels are optimized for the Japanese market and we have the right platform, content and functionality for this source market to enable travel globally.
This position will work with Japan market leaders as well as “rest of world” sales and marketing leaders to define optimal content and merchandising for Japanese websites, APPs or other platforms like LINE. This position reports to the Area Director of Marketing for Japan & Korea and works in partnership with the Global Digitalization team.
This position is responsible for the following:
Gather insights on Japan buying behavior and digital trends
Partners with the global digital teams to provide insights and learnings to inform the development of future functionality on Marriott channels
Identifies and manages opportunities to execute via local platforms (e.g. LINE).
Works with sales and marketing leaders locally and globally to understand needs and opportunities for Japan source market.
Manages content and merchandising on Marriott’s direct channels in Japanese.
20-30%of time is spent travelling.CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience
4-year degree from an accredited college or university
5 - 7 years experience in digital platforms, quantitative analysis and international business

Partners with global team on roadmap and execution of functionality for digital platforms
Works with local and global market leader to understand and execute merchandising and content needs for the platform
Manages local platform strategy and execution where needed
