Position Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION 


To maximize hotel sales, revenue & profit growth by assisting with the implementation of a learning culture and driving motivation, training and developing for all employees. Enhance morale of the staff and management by anticipating the employee needs in terms Training and Development. 


PROFESSIONAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 


Plans training & development to all staff in the hotel


Prepares the yearly training plan which is reviewed on a regular basis


Ensures all departments prepare monthly training plans based on the yearly training calendar and short-term training requirements


Ensures succession planning at all levels is followed and necessary needs are addressed


TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT 


 


Provides an infrastructure of planned training and development activity, which meets the needs of the company, the hotel and the individual


Coordinates/ conducts all external and internal training programs as needed


Creates and conducts new training programs tailor made for Hotel Missoni Kuwait as they arise


Communicates training arrangements to all relevant parties


Ensures that all new employees are empowered with adequate induction within 30 days of the first day at work


Ensures all employees goes through the mandatory training as per the requirements of  the Kuwait Municipality 


Implements Eidos Culture, hotel's service culture through training sessions and interaction


Identifies training needs considering feedback obtained from guests and through other channels as well as through performance observations on-the-job


Works closely with departmental trainers and supports their on-job training activities


Ensures that an updated manual and computerized training record for each employee is maintained

Implements ‘VITA’, Hotel Missoni’s service culture through training sessions and interaction


Identifies training needs considering feedback obtained from guests and through other channels as well as through performance observations on-the-job


Works closely with departmental trainers and supports their on-job training activities


Ensures that an updated manual and computerized training record for each employee is maintained


Ensures that effectiveness of each training session is evaluated


Updates the Training notice board on a regular basis


Ensures that every employee receives four hours of training per month


Ensures that a monthly training activities report is submitted


Ensures that all employees are given equal opportunity for development and multi-skilling


Assists with employee recognition schemes as appropriate


Assists in promoting employee newsletters


Spearheads, coordinates and monitors development of all operational trainees, interns and management trainees


Ensures the Training Procedures are updated on a regular basis


Coordinates and monitors development of all operational trainees, interns and management trainee


Takes care of training organization for internal and external training, i.e. venue booking, hotel-wide communication, scheduling, attendance tracking and follow up


Ensures that effectiveness of each training session is evaluated


Updates the Training notice board on a regular basis


Ensures that every employee receives four hours of training per month


Ensures that a monthly training activities report is submitte


 


QUALITY AWARENESS:


Facilitates quality awareness throughout the hotel


Ensures that each department has an SOP manual and that all staff are aware of the required standard of performance


Conducts quality audits and reports analyses of findings


Facilitates quality awareness throughout the hotel


Assists in conducting quality audits and reports analyses of findings


EMPLOYEE RELATIONS:


Engages and participates in effective communication within the hotel


Answers queries or passes on to the relevant person with an introduction of the issue


Monitors the effectiveness of training as well as feedback on training sessions conducted; reports such feedback received from colleagues on training and training related matters to the HRD


Forwards feedback to colleagues in HR and department heads on any employee related matters


Assists in running monthly meetings with all Departmental Support trainers, takes and distributes minutes to respective parties.


Participates in effective internal communication, attends daily briefings in various departments as appropriate


Responsible Business: shows involvement and is interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business hotel- and departmental activities


 



    Position Requirements and Offer Details

    Education/ Qualification: College Diploma or Hotel Management School Diploma  


    Experience: 


    International Hotel experience an advantage, preferable in five star environment


    Experience in operations required


    Technical- and Language Skills


    Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office            


    Language skills: excellent command in English; orally and
    written, additional languages are an added advantage
