Job Description: We are looking for talent who is intuitive, engaging and refined, to join Rosewood Beijing as the Butler.  
Job summary
Implement the new butler motto “To be invisible but available” by providing prompt, accurate & courteous services to the resident guests at the Hotel  by ensuring the efficient operation of the floor(s) under his / her control to maintain the highest standards of Butler service and to maximize guest satisfaction & organizational profitability in an atmosphere of high employee morale.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Offer personalized service to the guests who stay at the hotel with close communication with other related departments of the hotel. Ensure rooms are prepared according stander / guest preference when applicable.
Administration
Be Familiar with in-house computer systems procedures.
Maintain a recording process of all guest preference information into Guest profile.
Attend daily briefing session’s Regular evaluation, feedback and remedial training as may be required – as inherent in ongoing training culture.
Full understanding of and adherence to contents of Hotel employee handbook
To adhere to the hotel’s policy related to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
To report any accidents/incidents, take the required action and follow up through established channels.
Maintain active daily communication with Senior Butler and other relevant parties
Working hours: as per roster with a degree of flexibility for short notice as per hotel guest reasonable requests
Ensures constant adherence to organizational standards in hygiene and cleanliness in the maintenance of the area and equipment under his/ her control.
Maintains stocks of all necessary items in the pantry through proper requisitioning.
Maintains the guest report.
Guest Satisfaction
Ensure the room is prepared to required standards and meets specific needs of guest.
Ensure all technical and lights are operating.
Ensure registration of guest has been completed before escorting the guests to the rooms for rooming and related arrival services.
Offer In Room Check –in for the SA and MB  guests , conduct hotel and room orientation
Offer and explain the butler service to guests.
Attend any guest request at all auction.
Liaise with management over any issues that may have arisen on guest’s arrival.
Find new ways to exceed guest expectation during the guests stay.
Ability to maintain strict confidentially of hotel and guest information.
To be able to work well under pressure.
Demonstrate flexibility dealing with changes and “last minute” issues of guest.
Ensure high standard of grooming and presentation at all Butler times
During Stay
Butler to achieve high guest satisfaction experience.
Become familiar with areas of local interest, locations, general community activities, theatre productions, sporting and cultural events, etc.
Establish a communication line with guest during residence for any service requirements.
Liaise with Engineering, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage and all other hotel departments.
Be fully conversant of hotel facilities.
Bath preparation
Eye for detail of room to be perfect condition at all times
Take notes of guest personal preferences and maintain guest report.
Key in guests likes and dislikes at guest profiles of hotel PMS on updating and the maintenance of guests’ history.
Offer Room Dead Move, storage accordingly.
Knowledgeable of the sport and other important local and world news.
Very knowledgeable about Beijing and China and its history.
Fully cognoscente of the in room AV systems and is able to help guests with minor computer issues.
Personal escorting for touring and shopping.
Offer packing /Unpacking of bags for guest and do so when requested.
Liaise with concerned departments to organize warm welcome as well farewell to all guests
Other Duties
Attends behavioural and vocational training in own and related work areas to enhance skills and develop multi functionality
Attends training on fire safety & security systems.
Shares skills with all departmental employees especially through O.T.J. training for new comers.
Job Requirements: Required Skills
Knowledge of Food & Beverage
Knowledge of Housekeeping
Good communication skills
Knowledge of computers
Appreciation of hospitality and guest service as key to successful guest experience.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree from an accredited university, college or hotel school.
Familiar with computer system and application software, such as Microsoft Office, Opera.
Effective interpersonal skill.
Good command of oral & written communication, in both Mandarin and English.
Goal driven personality.
Experience
2 years and above experience in similar position in a luxury or ultra-luxury international brand hotel.
