Job Description: Job summary


This position is responsible for all aspects of Spa and Wellness Centre & pool operation. areas and objectives.  As a key front-line team leader, this role is responsible for all operation aspect of  the department and verifying that associates of the department are prepared to exceed the guest expectations providing personalized service.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities - (Key activities)


Manage the Wellness and Spa offerings and ensure they meet the Rosewood brand standards

Responsibility for the overall management and performance of the Wellness and Spa Centre, ensuring high standard of professionalism, customer service and financial performance

Ensure Daily Check-lists are implemented and updated as required

Ensure all Wellness and Spa associates deliver Brand Service experience and provide exceptional guest service at all time to achieve brand goals for Trust You, LQA and Forbes Travel Guide

Coordinate the sequence of services for group booking

Demonstrate solid financial knowledge as it relates to inventory, strategic planning, budgeting and associating levels

Support all corporate programs and initiatives, relating to associate and guest satisfaction.

Ensure each associate is aware of their responsibilities and has the necessary tools

Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards

Actively participate in all internal meetings, as required

Consistently contributing to a positive work environment

Demonstrate a high level of product knowledge and job skills, showing enthusiasm to always increase this knowledge and that of your associates

Be flexible to help out in any service area when guests demand dictates

Ability to handle any guest/ customer complaints and ensure necessary follow-up

Coordinate with facilities maintenance, equipment service vendors, software provider, etc. for repairs and service

Take responsibility for health and safety within the department, ensuring adherence to both China regulations and Company guidelines

Perform general clerical duties for department when necessary

Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Hotel Manager/Area Managing Director



Financial responsibilities


Ensure that department associates have an understanding of their individual targets and the financial goals of the hotel

Maximise departmental revenues for the hotel through appropriate yield management, up-selling initiatives and working closely with the relevant Department Heads

Be articulate in Spa operational programs: Supply Orders, Payroll, Front line incentives and commissions

Schedule to insure monthly inventory is managed efficiently and data is accurate.

Control & maintaining spa par levels for operational stocks

Review monthly P&L reviews, making recommendations as required and addressing differences

Maximise departmental revenues for the hotel through appropriate yield management, up-selling initiatives and working closely with the relevant Department Heads.

Ensure all hotel, Company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping. Money handling and licensing are adhered to. Including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information

Establish annual departmental operating budgets as well as capital expenditure and manpower budgets



Human Resources responsibilities


Driving the Company value, culture and brand throughout the organization

Hire, train, and supervise all Wellness and Spa associates

Maintaining meeting and training calendar and projects

Deliver the defined Brand concept through all areas of the Asaya Active and to ensure that all associates are highly skilled and professional in their approach

Ensure that the departmental training manual are continuously updated, maintained and used effectively

Ensure that all aspects of associate performance are managed within the department including training, on-going associate feedback, counselling and disciplinary requirements, and the associated annual Performance Reviews and development plan. These aspects must be carried out in accordance with corporate guidelines

Ensure that the department associates follow all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulation relating to safety, hygiene and emergency




Information Security


Identify and regularly review the classification levels of all information of Wellness and Spa Centre colleagues

Guest information and staff personal records are being secured effectively to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the informational assets

Authorize appropriate user access to guest information and staff personal records; remove access when it is no longer required


Brand Integrity

Actively live and breathe the company’s vision and mission

Driving the Company value, culture and brand throughout the organization.

Ensures brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.


Other Standard Responsibilities

Complies with the Company policies.

Takes on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework including office administration.

Creates, develops and updates policies, standard operating procedures and brand service standards, while ensuring compliance to the same for consistency across the group.

Is a “Brand Ambassador” at all times and ensures brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.

Presentable appearance and outgoing personality.

Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese

Knowledge of all aspects in deluxe international Wellness Centre operations, preferably with professional fitness instructor certificates.




Minimum three years’ experience in the Wellness industry with at least two years in managerial position in deluxe international Wellness institutions.
