Overnight Room Service Server

Job Title: Overnight Room Service Server Education: High School Location: Rosewood Sand Hill - Menlo Park, CA 94025 US (Primary) Career Level: Corporate General Associate Category: Food & Beverage Service (IRD, Restaurant, Bar) Job Type: Part-time Compensation Currency: USD Job Description: To set up and serve food and beverage orders according to set standards and procedures as well as performing necessary side work for the room service station.  To setup and maintain staff coffee in designated areas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

·         Log all orders as they come in and set them up accordingly.  Deliver the orders promptly.

 

 

 

·         Check and pick up all dirty tables from guest hallways.  Collect doorknob orders and check each for room number.

 

 

 

·         Preset requested number of tables for AM shift and finish the rest of the sidework.

 

 

 

·         Responsible for room service and its functions, consequently carrying a beeper at all times.  Responsible for calculating his tips.

 

 

 

·         Responsible for receiving of an order through the operator to communicating it to the chef on duty.

 

 

 

·         Able to work with Chef to ensure food quality

 

 

 

·         Complete any remaining amenity delivery.

 

 

 

·         Responsible for the set-up of coffee in the lobby at 6 a.m.

 

 

 

·         Stay over for the breakfast shift as requested by the captain.

  Job Requirements: One-two years server experience in room service or restaurant of a 4 or 5-star hotel

 

Skills and Knowledge

 

Should be able to carry trays and lift heavy loads occasionally 

 

Ability to move from floor to floor and deliver/pick up trays/carts. 

 

Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc.

 

Must be capable of communicating effectively with guests and employees. 

Professional presentation.

 

Ability to stand for prolonged periods

 

Must be able to work from 11pm to 7am

 

Proficient in phone use with guests and menu descriptions

 

Basic food and beverage knowledge

 

Ability to organize multiple tasks for and entire shift

 

 

 

Education or Certification

 

Must be TABC certified
