We’re looking for help to think of “what’s next”, “what’s needed”, “what’s new”. We don’t want people to think outside the box. We want people who ask “what box?”.

 

Reporting to Head of Design in Corporate Development & Projects Division, work closely with Interior Design consultants in planning, coordinating and facilitating the overall design works of new hotels and/or renovation projects, including conceptual design, structural design, interior design, construction, cost control, programming and architectural integrity, in order to ensure the design quality and directives are followed.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      •    Co-ordinate and facilitate communication between relevant parties involved in the design process
      •    Work interactively with project teams to ensure all designs meet Company Design Standards and expectations of guest comfort, safety and service in all guest contact areas are archived
      •    Enhance the design quality of all projects through design auditing and quality assurance system to reinforce the design integrity of our hotels and ensure the product is the most efficient and best functional for operation use and keep as a long-term asset
      •    Work closely with the appointed consultants and hotel operator during all stages of projects to ensure practical, effective and durable designs at indicated budgets
      •    Monitor the established design schedule and progress of work of consultants and other relevant parties
      •    Minimize ‘regret factors’ in all Interior Design issues
      •    Ensure all design related matters are executed on time, progress and comments for rectifications and improvements are documented 
      •    Liaise with local and international suppliers to accomplish on-time delivery
      •    Liaise with project teams from conceptual design to schematic design and detail design stage
      •    Monitor and assess the performance of Interior Design consultants
      •    Proactively work with design developer to ensure construction documentation align design concept
      •    Liaise with Architect, Landscape Designer, AV, Lighting Consultants and etc. at different design stages
      •    Assist in the assessment and recommendation of potential designer, artwork, lighting and signage consultants
      •    Frequent travel may be required

 

 

EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS REQUIRED

      •    Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Studies or related discipline 
      •    Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience with proven track record in handling luxury hotel projects or large-scale mixed-use developments at major consultancy firms or developers 
      •    Solid experience in handling luxury projects in China or other countries would be an advantage
      •    Sound knowledge in design trends and building design materials
      •    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      •    Proficiency in industrial related software, such as AutoCAD, Acrobat and Photoshop
      •    Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
