The Venue…

Soho Beach House is a private members club, hotel and spa located on the historic site of the Sovereign Hotel. The site has been redesigned and expanded to include a 16-story oceanfront tower.

Overlooking the ocean, the House includes 49 bedrooms, a private beach, an expansive Cowshed Spa and gym. There are two pools, indoor and outdoor dining, secluded gardens, a screening room and Cecconi’s open to the public.

The Role…

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager provides leadership and a work environment that promotes integrity, fosters teamwork, recognizes initiative and ensures excellence throughout the House. This position oversees the entire housekeeping operation providing supervision and management.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the smooth, efficient, cost effective operation of the Housekeeping Department including labor management, inventory control, and the development and maintenance of a positive and supportive work environment and inter/intra departmental relationships
  • Prepares daily work schedule to meet occupancy demands and room turn
  • Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of all outlets
  • Maintains standards of the Hotel area and public spaces
  • Candidate must be a strong team leader
  • Able to maintain, motivate and train a multi-cultural staff to continuously strive for excellence in service
  • Monitors and controls labor costs for Housekeeping Department, achieving targeted payroll
  • Close coordination and communication with other internal departments
  • Monitors mystery shopper report scores and takes corrective action when necessary
  • Maintains and administers inventories to meet business demands and coordinates service with offsite vendors and laundry facility
  • Develops and implements master cleaning schedules
  • Inspects and evaluates rooms, ensuring standards are met
  • Coordinates out-of-order rooms and room maintenance with Member Services and Engineering
  • Prepares and conducts training sessions for Housekeeping Team
  • Interviews and makes recommendations regarding hiring of personnel
  • Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for team members and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations
