Restaurant ManagerAt Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, exceptional service and flavors are the hallmarks of every dining experience.  We invite you to develop your leadership strengths as Outlet Manager - and let your passion for guest service drive consistent guest satisfaction, an engaged team and outstanding operating results. Hotel Overview: Fairmont Orchid is a luxury AAA four-diamond Kohala Coast oceanfront resort with white sand lagoon, Hawaiian Spa Without Walls, golf, extensive meeting facilities, year-round children’s program, five restaurants and tennis, all serviced with Aloha.  We are currently looking for new colleagues to join our 'Ohana and share that Aloha here at Fairmont Orchid.

 

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Restaurant Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Lead and manage the F&B Outlet team in all aspects of the department and ensure service standards are followed
  • Drive service levels and revenue generating initiatives specifically for the Beach and Pool and Brown's Deli
  • Enhance and maintain services offered on the beach, pool and cabanas
  • Work together with the Hale Kai manager for cohesion and leverage between the restaurant and beach and pool
  • Work with Recreation to form departmental relationships for seamless service on the beach and pool
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
  • Assist in the recruitment and  training of F&B Colleagues
  • Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
  • Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings
  • Maximize revenues by communicating regularly with the Food and Beverage teams to implement agreed upon strategies, practices and promotions
  • Have full knowledge of all Outlet menus
  • Manage the departmental budget
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous Food and Beverage leadership experience required
  • Previous Point of Sale System experience required
  • University / College degree in related discipline preferred 
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Working in an outdoor environment for extended periods of time 
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
