Hotel Overview:

The grandeur of the fully restored hotel coupled with its reputation for impeccable service promises a regal experience. Completed in April 2001, the $85 million restoration project is highlighted by the re-emergence of the Main Lobby as a grand public space, as well as the remodeling of all the guestrooms. A short cable car ride away from the Financial District, Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square, the majestic building houses 591 guest rooms complete with two restaurants and two lounges, ranging from casual to elegant. With a panoramic view of the City and the Bay from high atop Nob Hill, The Fairmont San Francisco holds an unmatched blend of historic elegance and superb service for an unforgettable stay.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the In-Room Dining Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Assist guests in an informative and helpful way
  • Receive and process all cash and credit card transactions from guests in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Balance the point of sale system at end of shift
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items and pricing
  • Create coffee drinks on order
  • Serve guests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
 

Qualifications: Previous guest service experience preferred

Previous point of sale system experience preferred

Must have good cash handling skills

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Highly responsible & reliable

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

 

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limted to)

Constant standing and sitting throughout shift

Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs

Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

 

Visa Requirements: Must have proof of eligibilty to work in the United States
