In view of Disney’s growth within SEA, we are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Malaysia. This position will be in charge of our local accounting obligations in Malaysia and will primarily focus on our Studio business, but will also have responsibilities across our other Lines of Business. Responsibilities Reporting to our regional Finance team in Singapore, and partnering closely with our regional Tax & Accounting teams, this position will be in charge of billing & invoicing processes for our theatrical business, managing external/internal auditors, and serving as the main contact point for Malaysian tax authorities.

• In charge of billing, invoicing and collections processes for theatrical distribution

• Work closely with the Regional Tax Manager on tax compliance, accounting and reporting matters for Malaysia, as well, as server as the point of contact for the Malaysian Tax Authority

• Provide guidance and monitor accounting transactions and decisions to ensure compliance and/or avoid complications for statutory accounting requirements.

• Participate in ad-hoc assignments and provide support to local Finance and Operations teams for all questions related to Accounting

• Address queries from shared accounting service team and provide direction as required.
Basic Qualifications • Strong knowledge of Malaysian business/regulatory environment; Fluent in English and Malay
• 3-5 years of experience in a financial accounting or audit role
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS; solid knowledge of Malaysia’s local reporting and tax requirements
• Strong working knowledge of SAP is highly desirable
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
• Confident, self-motivated and can work independently
• Ability to examine issues from a broad perspective while considering impact beyond immediate scope
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Logical and lateral thinker
• Highly flexible and adaptable
• A strong team player who contributes to an environment that embraces collaboration and innovation
• Sets high standards and is driven to deliver top quality results
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal
• Experience in Studio industry is a plus
