As the Event Sales Manager for the West Coast. The leader will be responsible for launching venues in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Seattle and managing the respective P&Ls. 

The Event Sales Manager will operate mostly autonomously to build, develop, grow and scale the sales output for the region across the various corporate event sections. 

They will operate as an end-to-end sales manager in their geography, from prospecting to overseeing event execution, ensuring customers’ expectations are consistently exceeded. The leader will balance the entrepreneurial requirements  of launching new spaces with the needs of supporting the ongoing operations. 

They will work closely with the Global Events Central HQ team based in New York CIty as well as manage relationships with local third party partners. 

Specifically, the role requires performing the following tasks to the highest standards.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Initiate prospecting and manage the events pipeline

  • Create a market / demand development plan for the region and define associated budget

  • Develop relationships with targeted enterprise customers – from single event needs, to multi-instance needs to film producers and location scouts 

  • Execute negotiated group sales agreements and affiliate business 

  • Host site-visits, prepare sales proposals and complete contracts 

  • Directly manage high profile and/or overflow group business, as appropriate on-site

  • Provide input to sales forecasts and manage performance relative to goals 

  • Liaise with third party partners to consistently implement excellent catering, AV and production upsell services

  • Identify and negotiate with new local providers as needed 

  • Provide post-event customer service support, as needed  

  • Manage related operational and capital expenses 

  • Foster efficient and effective relationships and communication between vendors, community team and clients 

  • As business grows, be prepared to lead and develop other Sales team members



Qualifications & Experience: 

  • 5+ years of venue and/or group sales experience

  • 3+ years of growing and leading a team

  • You are passionate about hospitality

  • You are a born seller and are goal-driven 

  • You function well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy a challenge

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent attention
