Inside the World’s Oldest Restaurant

by | INSPIRATION

Hosco met with Antonio González, co-owner and director of the oldest restaurant in the world: Sobrino de Botin! The restaurant opened in 1725 and belonged to Botin’s family before Antonio’s ascendants took over in 1930. Since then, his family has been running what he describes as a magical place. Botin has kept the same name, location and activity since its opening and has never ceased operation, leading to it having a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Antonio says that the success of Botin lies, especially, in the history between its walls, making it not only a restaurant but also a museum. Famous writers such as Ernest Hemingway, Truman Capote, and F. Scott Fitzgerald mentioned the restaurant in their novels, making it very well known throughout the years. Watch the video to find out more about this restaurant full of magic.
