DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the smooth running of the department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Facilitate the coordination and requirements of the Housekeeping Department with other departments.
  • Monitor guests’ satisfaction throughout their stays and take appropriate steps and immediate corrective measures where defects or faults is identify in the system.
  • Deal with all guests’ queries and complaints swiftly and efficiently.
  • Meet and greet all VIP, long stay guests and ensure proper cleaning level and standard is respected in the guestrooms.
  • Organize and Co-ordinate general deep cleaning program.
  • Coordinate and Implement special cleaning program for Floors and Public Area team and with other departments on special cleaning operations by Housekeeping department, contractors or engineering department.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Preventive Maintenance Manager to ensure proper organization and monitoring of preventive maintenance of rooms and public Areas.
  • Monitor the performance of all the supervisory team members  
  • Co-ordinate and organize proper training plan and ensure it is conducted by necessary person.
  • Ensure that all Supervisory Level team embers perform their works up to the highest level of expectations and hotel standard.
  • Responsible to ensure that all Housekeeping staff are well trained and have proper knowledge to perform their assigned responsibility in line with the hotel objectives.
  • Ensure effective communication happens in required ways for a better co-ordination within the departments and inter departmental.
  • Ensure proper delegation of tasks are done and followed up at all level within the department according to set procedure and hierarchy.
  • Ensure that all appraisals are performed according to the department procedure and adhere to the hotel policies and standard.
  • Participate in the ordering /purchasing process for the Housekeeping Department in relation with the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, conduct interviews to choose the best candidate for the department.
  • Responsible to ensure that all the Housekeeping administrative work such as records keeping, update fillings are done as per schedule and set standard.
  • Ensure that all existing process and procedure are adhere and reviewed when require to be in line with the Department or company standard.
  • Implement a feedback system for immediate Supervisors to work towards continuous excellence in service.
  • Ensure that in the context of the operations, all standards of management for the environment and its related legislation are strictly observed and adhere
  • Monitor and control Manpower and natural resources to balance both budgetary requirements and customer needs.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety practices are followed at all times.
  • Promote energy efficiency and environment and identify improvement to support the green globe policy.
  • Implement Disciplinary and grievance procedures in conjunction with the human Resources department.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels within Housekeeping stores and issuing as needed.

Candidate REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or related discipline with at least 2 years’ experience as a  Housekeeper Manager or similar role 
  • Thorough knowledge of modern housekeeping techniques and the latest in cleaning technology, hygiene & safety standards.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Knowledge of various chemicals and cleaning equipment
  • Excellent communication skills, team work and customer service
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Previous experience in an Island environment would be an advantage
