The Senior Software Engineer would be primarily building mobile ready web applications using ServiceNow CreateNow suite of tools using the Platform as a Service (PaaS) development model as well as Java Stack. The Senior Engineer, who is a full stack developer, will design, develop, test, and implement and support components and applications of moderate to high complexity. The Senior Software Engineer is expected to be technical subject matter expert and be a strong team player. Being able to think innovatively, ability to move fast and quickly ramp up in new technology stacks, patterns, framework while retaining focus long term objectives of managing a platform with reusable libraries would be critical to the success of the role. Responsibilities
  • Owns the design, development and support of software components, and/or new software systems and applications.
  • Drives development of reusable components.
  • Develops technical solutions that meet specifications and that impact future developments.
  • Executes assigned component level software development projects and major fixes using new or existing technologies.
  • Develops specifications for assigned components, projects or fixes.
  • Reviews or writes code.
  • Leads programming, testing and debugging of applications or fixes to existing applications.
  • Creates protocols, documentation and tools for installation and maintenance.
  • Participates in setting the architectural direction for software development projects.
  • Designs specific components for assigned projects, developing specifications for each.
  • Designs, develops, manages, creates and maintains technical components and templates.
  • Able to code against front-end technology stack and lead end-to-end troubleshooting.
  • Interacts and coordinates deliverables with other technical groups in the organization.
  • Executes assigned component level projects using new or existing technologies.
  • Designs and develops specifications for assigned projects.
  • Reviews or troubleshoots and performs testing.
  • Participates in conceiving and setting the architectural direction for development projects.
  • Designs the component tasks of assigned projects, developing specifications for each.
  • Serves as a high level technical resource and “go-to” person for less experienced developers, providing technical guidance and oversight.
  • Leads team members in problem analysis and issue resolution.
  • Recommends improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team.
Basic Qualifications
  • Very Strong JavaScript skill set
  • 5-8 years of experience in building Enterprise scale applications using J2EE, Spring, JSF or industry standard Java frameworks
  • 3-5 years of building mobile ready, responsive web applications using JavaScript based frameworks, libraries
  • 3-5 years of Database Design and usage – Relational and NoSql
  • Node.js / Angular.js / Ionic / Express.js
  • Java (1.7 / 1.8)
  • REST based API Design and Development
  • SQL
  • Database Design
  • Micro Services Architecture
  • Web Services
  • Usage of monitoring tools like Splunk, NewRelic, AppDynamics or Intoroscope
  • IDE usage experience of tools like Eclipse, Visual Code or IntelliJ
  • Software Performance Optimization (memory, CPU, scaling, etc...)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of building AngularJS applications in ServiceNow using the CreateNow suite
  • Working knowledge of ServicePortal, ServiceNow native UI, workflows
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field or related work experience.
