The upcoming Four Seasons El Tamarindo Resort in Jalisco, Mexico rests on 2,100 acres of a protected eco reserve on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. The resort sprawls across an enchanting natural preserve and is embellished by the emerald-colored pacific coast. With 155 rooms and 25 residential units, Four Seasons El Tamarindo is proudly committed to ecological preservation and environmental responsibility.

Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is heartily committed to showcasing the very best of Mexican Art, Culture and Nature. The local community and their warmth are a key component of our guest experience and our Director of Sales will imbue a passion for this destination and the Culture.

The Director of Sales is an in market-based role, that can be done remotely. The successful candidate must have previous experience selling incentive group market on the West Coast region of the US, ideally with resort experience.

Be You: The Director of Sales will demonstrate the following key characteristics:
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • High degree of independent judgement
  • Assertive in pursuing lead opportunities          
  • Have a solid work ethic, can-do attitude and a passion for service.
Master Your Craft: The Director of Sales, uncovers, prospect and sells group business, in accordance with the objectives established in the Marketing Plan. As Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is an emerging destination, previous experience working with new destinations would be advantageous. Monitors and motivates the sales activities of a remote sales team, to include markets such as group, travel industry and social sales managers and coordinators. Ensures that sales activities, individual accounts and group bookings are focused and coordinated with transient demand to yield the maximum revenue per available room. Has the ability to be a Public Ambassador for Four Seasons Hotels.

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Resort Pre-Opening Experience Preferred.
  • Residency in Market Location Preferred.
  • The passion of a leader with aptitude, management skills and upward mobility and desire to thrive as Director of Sales for the resort for 3-5 years.
  • Understanding of high-end luxury Resort product.
  • Demonstrate passion for the destination and the Mexican Culture.
  • Excellent English and Spanish as preferred but not essential.
  • The ability to direct sales activities of the hotel to achieve budgeted goals.
  • The ability to monitor and identify current and future business trends to insure profitable sales in periods of low and high demand.
  • The ability to negotiate and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client's needs.
  • The ability to assist in the development of the annual marketing plan.
  • The ability to ensure projects are executed for all market areas as stated in the hotel marketing plan with emphasis on increasing sales and profitability.
  • The ability to review market analysis and determine client needs, occupancy potential, rates desired, etc.
  • The ability to supervise the installation of sales and marketing procedures and ensure the hotel is in compliance with all company Minimum Operating Standards.
  • The ability to analyze sales statistics against booked vs. consumed business.
  • The ability to actively sell and manage his/her key accounts and territory as #1 priority
  • The ability to enhance the hotel's community image and stay abreast of the competition, new developments and sales methods and techniques in the hotel industry to maximize sales and profitability.
  • The ability to assist in the preparation of the budget and ensure the department operates within cost constraints, i.e. direct selling costs, etc.
  • The ability to be continuously be aware of current and forecasted financial/business performance.
  • The ability to control data, availability, and rate on guest rooms and function space.
  • The ability to establish group room night and average rate goals based on marketing plan and overall objectives.
  • The ability to manage transient and group room commitments to ensure proper market mix.
  • The ability to manage function space allocation for group and catering bookings based on established guidelines and procedures.
