Capital Hilton is looking to add an Assistant Director of Rooms to join the team!

Located just blocks from the capital's best attractions, this property has 550 rooms, 30,000 square feet of banquet spacem and 4 food and beverage outlets.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with 2-3 years management experience in both front desk and housekeeping. This position will report directly into the General Manager of the hotel with a dotted line into both the Director of Front Office and the Director of Housekeeping.

What will I be doing?

An Assistant Director of Rooms is responsible for directing and administering the operations of key guest contact departments in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Direct and administer Rooms Division operations to include, but not limited to daily operations, guest service standards and initiative, product quality, inventory management and cost controls, merchandising and marketing, systems use management, budgeting and forecasting, department management and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Oversees key guest contact departments and their department heads, managers and team members and provides instruction to department managers.
  • Oversees rooms' related systems that directly impact the guest, to ensure proper procedures are in place and followed which allow for an outstanding guest experience.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues and concerns in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends and evaluate and address, systems and procedures to make improvements accordingly
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
  • Facilitate and coordinate marketing initiatives, sales site visits and special requests from other departments
