The Assistant Director of Sales Leisure, researches, develops and solicits new FIT and Group Tour business while maintaining relationships with current accounts. Travels outside of the office to meet with customers and prospective customers to develop business, make proposals, negotiate contracts, maintain contacts, plan Fam Trips, conduct site inspections and close deals. Consistently meets with and entertains customers, conducts property tours, participates in tradeshows and industry and community events to promote facilities and services. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff.


What will I be doing?

 

 

 

As Assistant Director of Sales Leisure you will be responsible for the development of strategic plans to positively impact leisure and business travel market. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

 

 

  • Direct the identification, sales efforts, and relationships with individual travel producers including travel management accounts, retail travel agents, bed banks, consortiums, channel management accounts and wholesalers.
  • Assist in the creation and analysis of financials including budgets, forecasting, rates, and pricing guidelines.
  • Establish Leisure and Business Travel Marketing and Action Plans including special packages, offers and seasonal promotions by feeder markets
  • Establish wholesale, retail, and corporate travel target lists. Attainment of annual room night and revenue goal for the leisure and business travel market sales program.
  • Initiate contact with perspective business travel accounts as identified through direct sales program.
  • Coordinate special promotional events for key leisure and business travel customers and their clients.
  • Represent properties at appropriate travel industry tradeshows, conference and meetings both domestic and international
  • Monitor mailings to leisure and business travel customers with updates of programs and events.
  • Review account’s production and travel patterns to determine the appropriate marketing initiatives for negotiation. Including wholesaler marketing coops.
  • Participate on the hotel’s Rev Max meetings
  • Interact with Public Relations to ensure everyone is updated on new programs, packages and travel industry events that could make for positive public relations coverage in the trade or local media.
  • Maintain close communication and nurture relationships with enterprise partners: HWS Leisure, Regional Marketing, Destination Marketing and others

An Assistant Director of Sales Leisure serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

 

 

  • Positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience Required.
  • Significant experience of three (3) or more years in leisure sales.
  • Experience in the Cancun geographical market or similar (domestic or international).
  • Leadership and Team Management.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of sales experience in a luxury hotel and all-inclusive resort environment above 400 rooms.
  • Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints independently.
  • Ability to establish and master goals.
  • Ability to identify and develop accounts.
  • computer skills, including, but not limited to, accounting programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Math skills, as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Passion for sales and for achieving targets and objectives
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field would be advantageous
