Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa, Mallorca is located on a cliff and surrounded by pine forests looking over the fishing town of Port Soller. Its 121 spacious guestrooms and suites, all with private terrace or French balcony, enjoy stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea or views of the port and the impressive Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO Heritage site. The hotel offers three restaurants, three bars, two swimming pools and our Talise Spa. The hotel is divided into eleven low-rise structures ensuring that visitors experience a truly exceptional and natural environment.


About the Role:



An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Revenue position to manage our Revenue and Reservations department in Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa.



The main duties and responsibilities of this role:


  • Responsible for formulating long and short-term Revenue Management strategies of the SBU (Strategic Business Unit, usually a hotel/resort) and for overseeing their successful execution towards the advancement of RevPAR market share.

  • Leverages provided resources to ensure the successful application and continuous development of Revenue Management techniques for maximizing the generation of room revenue, as well as any other agreed-upon revenue streams such as catering, restaurant or spa revenues.

  • Develop and maintain a robust and current knowledge of the SBU’s marketplace and competitive environment.  Understand the macro and micro-economic variables affecting supply and demand in the local marketplace, and use this knowledge to create accurate operational and financial room’s revenue forecasts.  Prepare annual room revenue budget and co-author with Director of Business Development/DOSM the SBU’s annual marketing plan.

  • Be actively involved in the creation of weekly and monthly forecasts for catering, F&B and Spa performance and give recommendations for the optimization of RevPASM, RevPASH and RevPATBH.

  • Perform unconstrained demand analysis to determine optimal business mix for SBU.  Considering optimal and forecasted levels of business from each market segment, work with the Director of Business Development to direct the SBU’s sales efforts accordingly.


About you:


The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:



Experience


  • At least 2 years in a position of direct responsibility for Revenue Management within a hotel/resort

  • Strong understanding of hotel distribution




Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in Hotel Administration or Business Administration

  • MBA or other post-graduate university education




Skills


  • Demonstrates highly developed Revenue Management skill set

  • Capable of developing, articulating and implementing business strategies and initiatives

  • Possesses strong problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical abilities

  • Highly capable in basic mathematics, including the calculation of common statistics, ratios and percentages, and a working knowledge of simple algebra

  • Has excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Confident with the use of computers
  • Knowledge/desire to leverage technology as a resource
