Determines overall Sales & Marketing objectives and initiatives best suit the hotel

Produces and executes Sales and Marketing budgets and business plans to achieve the hotel’s revenue goals

Effectively promotes and positions the brand and the hotel at its desired level through publicity and communications management

Develops strategies to channel distribution from international markets and electronic channels

Devices e-commerce, B2B and B2C business strategies and action plans

Manages a diverse team to optimize collective performance within key markets

Job Requirements: Sales Manager – Wedding/Social Market


As the local, on property sales contact for customers, the Sales Manager, is responsible for proactively soliciting and handling all revenue-related opportunities in a sales catering segment. Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned over properly and in timely fashion for proper service delivery. Ensures compliance with CordeValle Operating Standards.

The primary responsibilities of the role include:


1. Builds the department top line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines set forth by the Director of Sales & Marketing. Identifies revenue opportunities for the hotel based on the event profile.

2. Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals. Effectively manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet customer needs, and identify opportunities to up-sell products and services throughout the sales process.

3. Understands the overall market in which they sell – competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.

4. Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, bridal shows, etc. Conducts personalized and memorable customer site inspections

5. Excels at proactive selling. Targets key accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation. Proactively identifies, qualifies, and solicits new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals. Focuses on accounts with larger potential sales revenue.

6. Responds to incoming inquiries within their market segment.

7. Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.

8. Accurately forecasts group sleeping rooms and revenue for his/her groups prior to the turnover and continues to be a part for this process after the turnover.

9. Creates sales contracts as required.

10. Comprehends budgets as needed to assist in the financial management of department. Understands the impact of department's role in the overall hotel financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
