The role…

Soho House is looking for an outgoing and professional Front Office Manager to lead the front office team and assure all members receive outstanding customer service! The Front Office Manager at Soho House runs not only the overall hotel operation of the Front Desk/Concierge (including Butlers, Receptionists, and Member Services and assisting with managing the Reservations/PBX Department) but manages the Evening Membership Guest List as well. This position is great for someone with previous management experience at an upscale, boutique hotel with high energy, friendly demeanor, an eye for accurate detail, and unmatched enthusiasm for hospitality and the Soho House brand.

Main Duties

  • Lead role in recruiting and training new staff within the Front Office
  • Organization, training, and implementation of all front desk, concierge, reservations, and guest list
  • Ensure that the maximum standards of service, grooming, and safety are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure accurate PO processes, payroll, and scheduling based on business needs; Provide departmental expenses and accruals to accounting
  • Oversee guests’ correspondences, process all guests and members claims and disputes; Emphasis on accuracy and proper follow-up
  • Oversee concierge role and provide information about local attractions, shopping, and points of interest in the city
  • Manage checkbook and month-end process, maintain proper credit and cash bank procedures
  • Prepare and monitor yearly departmental goals, related to payroll, expenses, staffing levels, and guest service
  • Establish and maintain department operating procedures
  • Hire, train, develop, counsel, evaluate, and discipline staff, including performance reviews
  • Organize staff meetings and agendas monthly
  • Have a strong knowledge of all rates, room types, Hotel product, and major competition, to maximize yielding opportunities
  • Ensure all reservation staff is familiar with all room types, selling techniques, Hotel facilities, services, key personnel, special activities, functions in the Hotel, and to ensure proper follow-up on all special guest requests
  • Manage evening guest list for events – late nights required!
  • Review VIP’s and contact on arrival as well as add to daily VIP list
  • Monitor daily reservation bookings to track booking patterns, duplicate reservations, special rates, and unapproved rate overrides
  • Create monthly budgets; keep rooms, expenditure, and staff costs in check
  • Schedule and oversee all front desk staff and ensure coverage is appropriate
