As Cook 3, the care you devote to food and workspace preparation will result in the creation of truly spectacular fare.
 
Hotel Overview:  Fairmont Orchid is a luxury AAA four-diamond Kohala Coast oceanfront resort with white sand lagoon, Hawaiian Spa Without Walls, golf, extensive meeting facilities, year-round children’s program, five restaurants and tennis, all serviced with Aloha.  We are currently looking for new colleagues to join our 'Ohana and share that Aloha here at Fairmont Orchid.
 
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:             
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
  • Assist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte andor buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Seeking candidate with High School Degree
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience required
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Must have basic math skills including Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Must have documentation of a negative TB test or be willing to get upon being hired
  • Will frequently be responsible for using the following equipment: Charbroiler Grill, Conventional/Convection Oven, Flat top/tilt skillet, deep fryer, steamer, and stove top gas range
 
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
