Purpose of Role

Director of Marketing Communications performs key functions of formulating effective public relations, online and marketing strategies, promoting the Hotel and its venues to targeted audience; building relationships with media and the community; develops online marketing and social media strategies inline with W core values and social media strategy; and act as Brand Ambassador for W.
The Director of Marketing & Communications will support Sales, Events Sales, Beverage & Food and AWAY Spa with their operations and promotional activity.
The Director of Marketing & Communications will interfaces with the hotel management (Director of Sales and Marketing and General Manager) to report on revenue statistics, personnel issues, PR performance, latest development in corporate guidelines and supervise hotel collaterals designs. The Director of Marketing & Communications will also be the media spokes person in emergency and crisis situations.

Responsibly Description

- Ensure individual sales goals, business objectives and profitability within the
  department have been achieved.
- Operate with peak efficiency through coordination, communication and
  cooperation with supporting departments.
- Define PR and marketing objectives, develop and implement PR and
   marketing strategies to meet hotel goals; including identifying and conveying
   W’s positioning statement and key messages to targeted audience via
   effective channels and campaigns.
- Assist Director of Sales & Marketing develop and manage annual department
  budget to effectively accomplish objectives.
- Initiate and maintain positive relationships with international, regional and local
   media in order to generate news-worthy publicity and media coverage.
   Identifies new media platforms and build new marketing partnerships.
- Ensure that appointed PR / advertising / media buying agencies, graphic artist
  and printers (if any) perform and deliver products with W’s image and
  standards.
- Conducts periodic assessment for graphic artist and printer, make necessary
   recommendations.
- Develop / approve all press informational materials and photography for
  regular distribution.
- Assist with collation of material for newsletters and other communications
   vehicles, in particular, promote the hotel in general and special programs.
