Scope

The Cluster Housekeeping Manager Public Area is responsible for supervising Raffles & Fairmont Doha day to day cleaning & services standards and will focus at all time in keeping the hotel premises in a perfect state of appearance, maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation in both public areas and staff areas. He / she provides direct supervision of the PA Attendants and Supervisors and to monitor efficiently the levels of service standards. He / She has to keep guest’s perspective in mind to carry out the mission of the Housekeeping department, and reach the company values, and vision.

Primary Responsibility

  • Assist the Assistant Director Housekeeping in all phases of Public areas daily operation & cover the absence of the Assistant Director Housekeeping when required.
  • Supervise the cleaning, cleanliness & maintenance of the Food and Beverage outlets, public areas, washrooms, exterior grounds, shops and back of the house areas under hospitality services in compliance with Raffles & Fairmont Doha standard as well as Forbes 5-star standard
  • Adhere to the established standards of conduct and house rules, fire regulations and all other departmental procedures and policies.
  • Report to shift on time in issued uniform in a neat, clean and tidy appearance at all times.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained for each shift.
  • Establish weekly, monthly staff roster and daily/ weekly/ Monthly assignments
  • Possess knowledge on all operating equipment, cleaning products, flooring, fabric specifications and categories so as to instruct colleagues of the proper use.
  • Walk & check public space daily to ensure the ambiance is warm and welcoming reflecting our local character and international sophistication (lighting/music/ flowers/ scent etc.).
  • Coordinate rotational or periodic cleaning programs and check to ensure they are appropriately executed.
  • Ensure PA colleagues are appropriately attired at all times.
  • Assist the Assistant Director Housekeeping when applicable to deal with all contractors or suppliers.
  • Deal efficiently with all Housekeeping personnel.
  • Conduct departmental training for subordinates both technically & theoretically.
  • Dispense daily briefing to subordinates
  • Coordinate & conduct departmental training, check & record staff performance & establish training need
  • Schedule & coordinate the recognition program of subordinates.
  • Schedule and coordinate public area team member performance reviews.
  • Conduct disciplinary interview when applicable.
  • Document and follow-up on employees’ files.
  • Schedule & conduct refresh training to ensure emergency procedures, health & safety as well as hygiene rules are strictly followed.
  • Keep open communication with management & subordinates.
  • Escalate to higher management any difficult situations or problems.
  • Responsible to keep records of special cleaning and maintenance up to date.
  • Responsible to keep record of contractors / supplier’s interventions.
  • Inspect daily store rooms & work stations to ensure that inventories are taken and that they are properly stocked, cleaned and tidied.
  • Follow up the maintenance and repair program of public areas. Ensure that repair request is being promptly processed and response time is monitored.
  • Maintains a positive, cooperative work environment & good communication with all related departments and management. Leads by example.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guest needs with an interest & concern, maintain positive guest relations and ensure guest satisfaction at all time.
  • Respect the privacy of guests & colleagues’ information.
        • Participate in hotel recycling program and check team members to reduce, re-use and recycle wherever possible and appropriate
  • Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as required by Assistant Director Housekeeping or the executive Direct Housekeeping.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate in hotel management school

 

Certification

Diploma or equivalent

 

Required Experience

Minimum of 4 years working experience in a similar role

 

 

 

Required Knowledge

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Proven training skills.

Good business practice.

People management knowledge.
