Spa Head Therapist (Maternity Cover)

Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens is looking for a Spa Head Therapist (6 months maternity cover)
Scope and purpose of the position:
The Spa Head Therapist is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Spa & Boutique, conduct treatments to the highest standards and in accordance with training and guidelines as well as lead the Spa Therapists’ team. As part of leadership must have at all times display professionalism and attention to detail to serve as an example to the Spa Therapists’ team. Act as an ambassador of the Spa. Comply with all Four Seasons’ policies and procedures.
Work closely with and assist the Assistant Spa Manager in the day to day running of the Spa operation.. Oversee the maintenance of high levels of hygiene and cleanliness within the treatment rooms and to implement training, co-ordinate professional stock control and other areas of The Spa as and when required.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide a personalized experience with seamless service with treatments that delivers tangible health and wellbeing benefits and have been recommended according to an appropriate consultation with the guest.
- Dress in issued uniform and ensures a neat, clean, and tidy appearance at all times, adhering to the established Grooming Standards Policy.
- To handle guest’s complaints, concerns and comments and find an appropriate and suitable resolution to ensure guest satisfaction
- Report to shift on time.
- Aware of schedule at all times and if unable to attend work, notify the Supervisor or Duty Manager in adequate time and according to policy.
- Be fully familiar with Hotel Fire and Emergency Procedures
- Carry out all treatments to the required standard and as per the daily schedule.
- Day to day responsibility for equipment, products, cleanliness and hygiene of the treatment rooms and facilities.
- Work closely with the Spa Assistant Manager ensuring that therapists are well trained and performing to pre determined standards.
- Take an active role in driving forward the business of the Spa and accept responsibility for all treatments.
- Assist in the interviewing and trade testing of new therapists as well as the appraisal process.
- Actively be involved with the implementation of new therapies and staff training.
- Hold regular formal/informal meetings with the therapist team to ensure that team is functioning to the best of its ability.
- Aware of all treatments and products on offer and any current promotions.
- Achieve sales, guest service targets, LQA targets, commitment report targets as set by the Spa Management.
- Offer guests full after care advice and the chance to purchase any products recommended within their treatment.
- Assist in other related areas as required particularly scheduling and reception / greeting of guests.
- Responsible for the treatment and consultation of VIP/ELITE guests and journalists.
- Organise staffing and liaise with the Spa Manager the booking of group Day Spa business.
- Assist and help organise demonstrations and events as required.
- Assist and organise training as set out by the Spa Management. Also to attend new or update training as required.
- Support and develop the Therapists to achieve their personal goals and objectives.
- Ensure that the correct quantities and mix of product are being used within treatments and to ensure as far as possible the security of products within treatment rooms and sales areas.
- Assist the Spa Management in the ordering and management of professional stock and sundries within The Spa.
- The ability to manage the inventory of professional products, assist with reordering of products and maximize profitability and revenue generation.
- Fully aware of the reception operation and be able to run a shift should the need arise or when requested to do so including Spa Duty Management shifts.
- Competent computer operator and to attend all necessary training to assist in the day to day business.
- Organised and in control of all administrational work as set out by the Spa Management team.
- Control and ensure that all new starter paperwork is completed on time, all staff appraisals are completed within the stipulated timeframe and the FS commitment report results are achieved according to present targets.
- Plan the staff working rota in the most fair and suitable way to meet the needs and develop the spa business.
- Fully aware of all health and safety issues relating to the department and to report anything which may present a danger to guests or staff.
- Always be punctual and prepared in advance for all treatments and to avoid treatments running late at all costs and wherever possible.
- To set an example as a role model to all staff and assist in the motivation of other therapists and staff.
- Ensure that all daily consultation cards are returned and filed at the end of each day.
- Ensure that client confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Flexible with regard to hours worked and be prepared to adjust these to meet demands of the business.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by Hotel & Spa management.
Standard Duties:
- Display Standard awareness, set example for standard execution, testing and implementation.
- Read and ensure all team members read, understand the hotel's employee handbook and ensure that the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety are abided by everyone.
- Ensure employees adhere to the code of conduct, grooming and hygiene standards.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities which, while outside the normal routine, are within the overall scope of the position.
- Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform/attire and nametag.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department personal appearance standards.
- Provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
- Display warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and maintain good working relationships, living The Golden Rule.
- Respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company or hotel.
- Flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
