Complex Director of Space Optimization and Strategy - Arizona Biltmore, Grand Wailea, and Hotel Del Coronado

The Group & Space Optimization and Strategy Department is responsible for using revenue management principles to manage Meeting Space inventory strategy and analyze data in order to optimize function space usage, to drive the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding service, while maximizing the hotel’s financial profitability.
This position is responsible for maximizing group revenue through optimization strategies including understanding the total “health” of each group, effective meeting space management, increased forecast accuracy and application of historical data, business intelligence and analysis.

Space Optimization
- Participate in Daily Business Review and provide intelligence on future bookings as it relates to Sales Strategy.
- Conduct weekly program due date audits to ensure programs are received in a timely manner per the terms of the sales agreement.
- Coordinate with Catering & Events Managers to release space once an official group program is received and input into system, track space released and inform Sales.
- Assist Event Managers looking to add space to definite bookings to fit within Sales Strategy.
- Assist Sales Managers to map space for leads to fit within Sales Strategy.
- Identify space conflicts and coordinate with Sales/Event Managers to design solutions.
- Work in collaboration with Sales/Event Managers to proactively move or release function space from definite groups to allow for additional bookings.
- Conduct Post Event analysis as groups depart to ensure business is booked smarter every time, include in Delphi bookings as Post Event Notes for easy access.
- Analyze pricing structures for meeting space during varying demand periods.
- Determine and publish free-sell dates for Local Catering.
- Ensure all contracts are audited from the Sales team to confirm blocked accuracy.
Food & Beverage Optimization
- Participate in weekly revenue meeting to review performance from previous week in both space and food & beverage and apply to future year.
- Provide Local Catering with weekly F&B production compared to history, turndowns for previous week and competitive set calendar.
- Distribute Local Catering prospect & tentative report.
- Participate in weekly Local Catering meeting.
- Conduct historical analysis to determine opportunities in food & beverage forecasts.
- Conduct special projects to analyze food & beverage spend historically looking at day of week, F&B minimums, booking window, meal period and top accounts to impact strategy.
Room Block Optimization
- Participate in weekly group pickup meetings, connect trends in rooms performance to action items for both space and food & beverage.
Supportive Functions
- Requires extensive interaction with hotel Director of Sales, Director of Catering, Director of Events (or Director of Catering & Events), and Director of Revenue Management.
- Support ongoing revenue initiatives by embracing change and modifying responsibilities in an effort to elevate position performance.
- Facilitates communication between Sales/Events/Revenue Management.
- Supports Sales & Event Managers to ensure their time can be directed towards increase revenues
OTHER:
- Other duties as necessary based on business needs
- Should reside in west coast time zone (either PST or CST) – Location TBD.
