Be a part of the newest luxury hotel in downtown LA,  Conrad Los Angeles ! As part of the highly anticipated billion-dollar project,  The Grand LA , this will be the 7th Conrad Hotel in the U.S. and the 1st in California.

Located in the most exciting state-of-the-art development to come to DTLA, this luxurious 28-story hotel will have over 300 rooms, a spa, 16,000 square foot rooftop with a pool deck, 12,000 square feet of event space, and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes a signature restaurant, outdoor restaurant, lobby bar, and in-room dining all in partnership with Chef Jose Andres' award-wining restaurant group,  JoseAndresFoodGroup .

The Grand LA combines lifestyle, arts, and culture to provide a truly unique experience in Los Angeles. It is at the epicenter of downtown LA’s cultural corridor across from the Walt Disney Concert Hall with two towers, a 45-story residential and 28-story hotel, and more than 176,000 square feet of retail space anchored by chef-driven restaurants and a collection of shops, entertainment, and hospitality.

In this role as the Director of Training and Quality, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing and measuring corporate and hotel-specific team member relations and training programs and initiatives to ensure positive team member morale and performance and a well-trained, quality service-oriented staff. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff. Develops action plans, organizes, coordinates and disseminates information on various functions/activities of the Employee Relations program, including the team member awards program. Coordinates and facilitates training programs according to standard.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of (2) years training and facilitation/presentation experience. Previous training and adult-learning experience is required in a luxury setting. Forbes training experience preferred. High school graduate or equivalent required, four-year college degree preferred. Knowledge of various methods used to conduct needs analysis. Knowledge of Adult learning theory and the essential elements of training. Knowledge of how to develop training programs. Proficient in Microsoft Office. English language writing skills to develop written correspondence and training materials. Ability to relate in English to all levels of management and employees in spoken and written form required, Spanish speaking preferred. Ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operation and detect issues of concern with regard to areas such as employee performance, grooming, training, policy adherence and morale.

What will I be doing?

  • Plan, implement, coordinate and/or present corporate training programs in accordance with current Hilton requirements including harassment-free workplace, diversity, new team member orientation, communication, leadership and service series and related training to meet specific departmental needs.
  • Review hotel training and update as necessary. Analyze current training needs for the hotel departments and individuals and make recommendations as needed. Develops or research training for specific hotel needs.
  • Track, input, maintain and audit all individual employee training records of in-house programs including department orientation records for new hires on a computer system. Administer information regarding Trac Tip Program.
  • Oversee and monitor all departmental training programs, i.e., Alcohol Awareness, Food Safety etc. by conducting audits and making recommendations for compliance. Monitor educational assistance program.
  • Plan and conduct meetings with department managers, trainers and employees to review performance trends, develop action plans and give recognition. Monitor non-exempt performance reviews.
  • Develop annual training calendar. Compile monthly and quarterly reports of training activity. Conduct necessary analysis to assess specific departmental and training needs.
  • Monitor and implement programs to assist with satisfaction and loyalty program.

The annual salary range for this role is $70k to 95k and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
