This position will be responsible for the efficient running of the division in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. The Finance Manager will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Finance & Accounting Division, through planning, organizing, directing and controlling Accounting, Finance and Information Technologies Systems policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and manage the hotel's annual budget, including revenue projections, expense allocations, and capital expenditure plans.
· Perform ongoing financial analysis and provide insights on key financial metrics, variances, and trends.
· Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and cost control measures
· Conduct financial forecasting and modeling to support strategic initiatives and identify potential risks or opportunities.
· Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
· Ensure compliance with accounting principles, corporate policies, and local regulatory requirements.
· Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
· Monitor and maintain proper internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
· Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
· Supervise the finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations.
· Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data through regular reconciliations and audits.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Accounting, or a related field.
· Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English
· Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the hospitality industry.
· Knowledge of local tax laws and regulatory requirements related to finance and accounting.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
· Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
